Let's see you though most of Batman sucked but are looking forward to seeing the Transporter 2.......
I acutally enjoyed Lord of War. On the other hand, Kingdom of Heaven needs to be up there, one of the most boring movie I have ever seen.
Agree about Bewitched. Wife and I saw to kill a couple hours and that was a bad mistake. The ending was just a horrible horrible mess. How exactly did 'House of Wax' not get mentioned at all? Not that I even saw it... I thought Aeon Flux came out well. Maybe I just enjoyed looking at Charlize Theron for 2 hours. It was a questionable call to try and even make the movie, but they really did a nice job with it. That Usher actually did a movie swiping a Twix commercial for its title should have been telling enough. Sometimes I wonder about hollywood producers. Evan
I don't think I've even seen 10 movies that were released this year. In fact, 2 of the films I've watched in the theater in 2005 were actually 2004 releases(Million Dollar Baby and Closer). Honestly, the worst 2005 flick I saw was probably Revenge of the Sith and that's by default. It was a mediocre film, no doubt, but not Top 10 Worst Films material.
I really enjoyed Two for the Money, being a professional sports handicapper and bookie at one point in my life.
For once I actually agree with his reveiw, most of it anyways. But Pacifier wasn't weak enough to make it and Devil's Rejects got some pretty strong reviews. And where is Stealth?!
I can honestly say that I enjoyed every movie I saw this year in theaters. The 40 Year Old Virgin Kung Fu Hustle The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Sin City Serenity Star Wars Episode III : Revenge of the Sith Batman Begins The Chronicles of Narnia : The Lion, the Witch, and the Warddrobe
I really didn't see what was wrong with Elektra. I wouldn't say it was a good movie, but it wasn't bad either. Certainly wasn't as bad as crap like Catwoman and Daredevil. I was also dragged to see Dukes of Hazzard. It really isn't a bad movie either, for the type of movie it is anyway. I think the only movie I really enjoyed this year was Serenity, but it was more like a 2 hour Firefly episode for me rather than a movie ... Haven't seen Wedding Crashers or 40 year old virgin yet, but I suspect I'll like. Hopefully 2006 delivers, because 2005 blew donkey balls.
hey, deuce bigolow: european gigolo has inspired me to make a trip to amsterdam one day. an absolute travesty that it has made the list. although brokeback mountain should be on there. since.... Congress has banned gay movies.
I will say, however, that I saw only Lord Of War on that list. I tend to stay away from movies I somehow know are going to suck. (Unless it's not my choice to go)
I haven't seen any of the movies on that list aside from about 20 minutes of The Pacifier while waiting in a doctor's office just this month... from what I saw, while it was mostly predictable, I'd venture a guess that it wasn't in the 10 worst category, maybe 25 worst - but it looked somewhat watchable to me. You'd have to actually have kids I think to get a lot of the jokes I saw in it... all of that said, I'm glad I can avoid the crap in theaters by watching the previews. Also, while we're at it, did anyone see The Island? And is it worth renting or owning? It looked like a kind of new Logan's Run.
Funny that you mention that... I just rented it and watched it tonight. It was exactly what I expected out of a Micheal Bay movie...a kickass action movie with a decent sci-fi storyline. Granted it has some plotholes and some dumb moments and is entirely predictable, but that's describing pretty much every action movie. I'm definitely considering buying it.
"A Sound of Thunder" only ranked No. 4!? That was honestly the worst movie I've seen in a movie theater EVER. God I can't even imagine how bad the first three movies must be.
The island is worth renting, for Scarlett Johansson if nothing else. I have to say Alone in the Dark might be the worst video game to movie port ever. Now let that last statement really sink in.
