Of course I agree. Under JVG this team had discipline. Now? We don't have that. Adelman is WEAK as hell.
i don't understand this team right now,i mean not only from this game tonight, i feel strange, something is wrong,we have so many talent players but we are playing so inconsistently Something must be changed!
Time to start Aaron Brooks and Artest. Bench Tmac...he sucks!! I don't have confident in him anymore. He's becoming a mediocre player now...and his shooting is too streaky. Bench Rafer because he and Tmac are the worst shooting guards in the entire league. We need to get Scola out as well...he's not a good defender. We need Chuck along with Yao and Artest and Battier. Aaron Brooks will be the PG. DO SOMETHING!! This goddam team is pissing me off!! If Adelman does not have the gut to bench Tmac...then fire him!!! Either get rid of Tmac of Adelman if this season failed.
╔╗╔═╦╗ ║╚╣║║╚╗ ╚═╩═╩═╝@ Yao4REAL ur starting line up is hayes, yao,ab,artest, shane lol... can someone(me) explain to him how stupid this is? taking out scola? who play with energy and heart on every play, although his D suck but he hustle and run and have more offense than hayes will every have, even in hayes dream,no disrespect.Artest? have you ever seen him play, when he is a starter, compare when he come off the bench, Brook? he is undersize, if we play bigger point guard, we will need to help him out, which would leave someone else open, if we dont help ab he will get post up and easy point.?? i agree about the D but most of your other point its just stupid.
If you would like to know the reasons for the failure Please let T-MAC leave You know the answer to when In the past few games after the
How come we have to keep hearing the name "Van Gundy" when it was Battier who was being torched by OJ Mayo?
But why on God's green earth doesn't the team do something about it? If the problem is they are inefficient on offense....and having 3 volume shooters shooting below 40%, why not fix the danged offense? I mean defense is great, but at some point you have to put the biscuit in the basket...... Von Wafer is an efficient player, Brent Barry is more efficient.... If Adelman is so concerned with offense (i don't believe this BTW) then why isn't he playing them more? I still think that Tmac's shooting % will get better, but Ron has NEVER been an efficient scorer, and Rafer.....SUCKS at scoring the ball. If you can trade Ron for an upgrade at Rafer's position, I think this team takes off..... But alas, I think this season is quickly going down the drain. DD
Even the best/most efficient offensive teams can be shut down or have off nights from time to time (see Phoenix in the playoffs). A team's defense has the ability to be consistent, night-in/night-out, and you don't neccesarily need talented defensive players to have a good team defense. You just need effort, intensity, a team-wide philosophy, and a killer attitude. This team simply doesn't have a lot of that... and the sad thing is, its mostly the players who did have some fire when somebody was pushing them relentlessly 2-3 years ago. We have a team full of guys that have to literally be whipped to respond... Adelman expects players to do it themselves.
I think part of the reason Von and Barry are so much more efficient is because they weren't here for the JVG years. They don't think playing within the offense means just spotting up for a 3pter. What's even worse is when Mcgrady tries to just be a role player he looks around and does what everyone else is doing (standing behind the 3pt line). This type of offense only works if you have great 3pt shooters and a completely dominant post player. At best, we only have one of those. We can't live by the 3 if we suck at shooting. So what if the shot is open. If your man is closing out on you out of control you have a lane.
Couldn't have said it better myself Nick! From the start of the season the defense has been my biggest concern, not the injuries not the supposed conflicts, the defense. I try not to but can't help but imagine what JVG would have done with this teams talent.
I don't think he would have done any better. Tmac would have still been out of shape, and Battier would have still lost a step, and the team would still be chucking up too many 3s.... But Nick and you are right about one thing concerning, the lack of intensity is maddening, and Adelman is too much of a players coach for this group of players. We do not have many self starters....on the perimeter.... Yao, Scola, Landry etc....all our bigs are fine and play hard all the time....our perimeter guys do not...... The Roster needs to be injected with some perimeter players that play hard and can score the ball....makes me want Hinrich even more. DD
I wonder why this isn't considered TMac hate .... Anyway, many of us have said this time and time again. The worst shooters on the team are taking too many shots. That's you Airballston. That's often you, TSlack. That's you Artest. I get NBA League Pass. About 40% of the time, I get the announcers from the other team. Almost invariably, they wonder why Yao gets so few shots. Part of it may be Yao. Part of it may be the guards. Regardless, he is the most efficient option on the floor, yet he often only takes 10 shots a night.
Scola is the most consistent player on the team right now. He is not great at any one facet of the game but solid on everything. You know exactly what you are going to get from him every night.
i have no idea... jvg is pulling his hair out watching this team play defense!!...er maybe not.. i would have liked to see chuck in the game last night.. oj mayo looked liked kobe playing against the rox
Here is what I think... Rafer : I am not a fan of Rafer, I don't think he is the right player for this team, but. I gotta give him some credit. He hasn't been all that bad, he is pretty agressive this season and I am sure he is gonna be better. I do have problem with his shots-selection (sometimes), though. T-Mac : He IS getting better. He has been a completly different player since he came back. His FG will sure be better, that's sure for me. He hasn't been forcing things, and he's been attacking the basket. His midrange games is better too (and he is shooting around 37-39% from downtown). The only problem with him has been 4th quarters. Just look. He usually plays not even good but GREAT through the first 3 quarters (against Philly, Chicago, Memphis, etc) scoring points and shooting around 50-60%. Really. The problem usually begins in the 4th. For some reason after being GREAT for 3 quarters he can't really get ANYTHING GOING in the last period (pretty much, the most important). He is not scoring, he is missing all of his 4, 5 attempts - which kills his overall stats as well (Philly, Chicago - he didn't play, Memphis). He has to play WELL through 4, not 3 quarters. And yeah, his D sucks, he has to pay attention. Artest : I am DISSAPOINTED. We all tought he was gonna bring some D, some toughness, and he will be the 3rd option. So far he failed. I understand he has been injured, but this is no longer an excuse. I tought Ron is strong, like pit bull. Well he is not. Just look at him on the post. He is getting abased by Gregs Buckners. It is just ridiculous. He CAN'T blow right by his defender, he is so slow. I tought Ron is a MONSTER inside. I was not right, he is the worst Rocket in the paint... His shot selection is HORRIBLE. All he can do is fall away and attempt a jumper or a 3-pointer. That is all. He brings NO toughness at ALL. People kinda say he for example he was great against Warriors. NO HE WASN'T. We had a good conversation about that with DaDakota. It is not like he played well. He was just on fire. I mean, the guy was falling away and still hitting those tough shots. The only game he was GREAT was against Jazz. Yeah, he carried us. You are gonna have some nights like that. But in general all he brings is 20-30 % shooting... He is HORRIBLE ON OFFENSE. And it is NOT ABOUT FITTING. Nobody shooting 20-30% would fit in that offense, in any offenses... And DD, now I fully AGREE with you. This team has to trade Ron. He is not woring in this offense, he pretty much kills oru ball movement and he is damn SELFISH. We not even should, we HAVE TO make a trade. ------------------------------------------ In general. Ron Artest is not gonna be what we expected him to be. Let's face it, he SUCKS, doesn't fit, etc. It is time to move him, get a quality player who can really help in the postseason, a player who can ATTACK. Ths biggest problem fir this team is DEFENSE. I don't even want to comment that. We all watch those same games, it is PATHETIC to see Memphis Grizzlies shooting 50% against 'contenders'.... But one more thing I would like to see. Yao and T-Mac have to DOMINATE. I mean, carry this team. One night it is gonna be Yao, the other one T-Mac. 20+ ain't gonna get it done, we have no chemistry, we are not playing like a team. But damn it, we have to win those games. RIGHT NOW, T-Mac and Yao (who have been pretty good lately) have to take CARE of things. This is your team guys, gotta show some leadership! If not? That is how I feel.
