yeh and if they got to the line i wouldnt mind, but they dont. They settle for jumpers all day. Artest is not nearly as good at getting to the rim as he was last season. I think his ankle is really bothering him. I'm slowly coming to the conclusion that this team as its built now is not a contender.

This is true, but we're toast if Mcgrady and Ron continue to shoot sub 40% anyway. We need to be great defensively and effective offensively. We're not doing either.
Just watched the lost at Memphis. It's ridiculous Mem becomes terrifying to Rocket even both Tmac and Yao scored well. Defense was poor on pick/roll and in the paint. Louise defensed Mark was a silly mistake. I saw Mutombo got 2 off. rebounds and 1 block at least when he was on the court. So what happened? Why the coach made Rocket play so hard? Bad def will stop Rocket in the playoff no matter how good is the off. Ron didn't contribute steadily when Yao & Tmac were on the branch. He played on 2-3 defenders on his own leaving Barry and Wafer much space without a pass. That's how this game was lost sadly.
lack of a consistent shot blocker + perimeter players getting burned. but you see what deke can do though. he came in for 2-3 minutes and the defensive tone changes. nobody dared go into the paint. gasol didn't dare to post up even when he was near the basket. deke leaves -> OJ mayo just drives in with no hesitation. gotta play deke more. it's that simple.
tmac played good "o" this game,but his 3pts shot at 3 mins left kill the game.. he took that shot too quick but other rox didn't even get in paint zone for reb

Funny you basically call out T-mac and then include Battier and Artest in our defensive team. Yet those 2 have struggled as well.

Well I could be wrong. He may didn't take a 3 but he took a long contested 2. It was hard to tell if it was a 3 or not because the camera angle was from the bottom but Rafer took two long shots in the same possession. It went Rafer missed offensive rebound T-mac missed offensive rebound Rafer missed again. I'm not blaming Rafer but he did miss some shots in the 4th.
