The Rockets need talent and they should be prepared for a three year development programe. Les, you should insist upon it!! JVGs plan of lets win now with defence and old vets has not worked-WE ALL CAN SEE THAT! Les did you hear that??The only players who played last season for the Rox that are worth consideration for the top ten positions of the roster are:-
Yao Ming,Tracy McG , Head and Alston. So we need six new players via draft, free agency, by trade or players of potential who are undrafted.

Although this draft is considered by many to be without future franchise stars, I see it a very deep draft with an abundance of Role Players and upto now no clear indication who will go where in the first round.
The players I would like to see the Rockets consider for the 8th pick are:-
Rod Carney, Mau Agar,Adam Morrison and Rudy Gay.
For the second round I would like the Rockets to consider:-
Sun Yue, Nick Fazekas, Kev Pittsnogle, Lior Eliahu and Marcus Vinicius.
If any of these players are undrafted I hope that the Rockets might invite them to our Summer Camp.

I agree with you about the owner. He has been jumping the gun without really giving it any thought. Like for instance giving JVG an extra year and resigning Dennis Lindsey.

I think your next to the last post was well put, but I think you are painting the wrong picture with this one.

We're in the middle of the ocean, and this is the boat we are on. Don't worry about it because nothing is going to change.

At his best, Shaq is an unstoppable offensive force, but he is hardly a perfect player. Shaq is not a very good shot blocker and is only above average as a defender. Yao will be his own player. He is constantly improving, and showed us last year that he can be truly great.

The Cavalier (star oriented team) almost beat the Pistons (team play). We almost beat Dallas last year. San Antonio knocked off a Suns team that was better last year to win the championship. It just looks like that right now because Phoenix and Dallas are currently the flashiest teams (neither has won a championship yet). I haven't seen real evidence that a star oriented team can't be the best in this league.

Also, Yao improved his foul tendancies last season, and Shaq still has them sometimes. That isn't going to be the reason the Rockets don't win.

if bobby sura's gas tank is zero and word is that bowen is staying..then season's over with this yao tmac+scrubs formula. I just know houston won't do well with bowen staying and if sura doesnt' come back. If sura's back, there is hope

I dont think the rockets are that far off. Remember they should have beaten the Mavs last year, and that same Mav team is doing pretty good this year. Without injuries Rox would have been okay, but they are no Mavs or Spurs right now. However, I think they have a chance to be very good next year with a few good moves.

I think if they can get two of these three players or even all three somehow in the draft, Sheldon Williams, JJ Redick or James White, without giving up anything other then Stro or Juwan we would be okay. Maybe #8 plus Stro ro Howard plus the trade exception for NOK 12 and 15 and hope to get both Dukies. Then hope James White is there at 32. Unlikely but not impossible. I think hardest part will be S. Williams falling to 12.

Add V-span and maybe Jay Williams with the MLE and we could have a solid team, that with Yao and Tmac playing over 70 games each, could be great.

    Yao/Deke
    S. Williams/Stro or Howard/Hayes
    Tmac/Bogans/Bowen
    Redick or James White/J. Williams/Head
    Alston/V-span/Sura
