god damn it man, we almost won teh celtics and blazers games becuz of tmac! tmac is teh man who would bring us to teh end, not ron, not yao! we are good only when tmac is good. 22 win steak proved that. ur sayin yao affect teh team more? ye rite, tbh w/o yao, we prolly 6:0 now rofl.
My only problem with the tmac threory is the rox win 40% without him and 70% without yao. So in the 70% he was never good?
The man is not 100%. If others are playing well it's best for him to get some rest. We're pretty deep on the perimeter so we could afford to do that. Unfortunately the same can't be said for Yao due to lack of size. Revisit this thread after the playoffs when T-Mac does the usual 30,7,7.
tmac's defense has been pathetic all season. we all knew that going into that game. he sucked from pre-season till now. it's nothing new that his lateral movement isn't there. but like i said based on the OP's THEORY, it's ridiculous b/c we were within 1-2 baskets in both games that we lost. and yao missed AT LEAST 3 point blank shots in all those 2 games. i mean, PURELY POINT BLANK. so had he made 1-2 of those and we get the wins, everything is forgotten. no, the main problem with this team remains rebounding and defense. we've got to get better in those areas (hopefully sign deke and get shane back). but when you go to these theories, you're just making excuses for others struggling or in denial about the team's weaknesses.
ironically, he's leading this team in free throw attempts with one leg. guess others have to be more aggressive huh?
you can't say that until we have playoff success. right now, nobody on this team is memorable to this rocket organization.
So because his defense has been consistently bad, it should be overlooked? Forgotten? Hardly. Even if we had won, there was a lot that the Rockets as a whole did wrong. And its r****ded to blame the loss on Yao. Purely point blank? Whats your point? If Ray Allen were being defended, maybe he wouldnt have scored all those points at the end. And then you wouldnt be placing such an emphasis on Yao's missed shots. Yao and Artest did terribly offensively. Tmac did terrible defensively. The rockets lost as a team.
And Billups has about 4 years left on his contract. Sorry, I rather wait it out with T-Mac than to keep an aging PG for 4 more years. Billups is not better than T-Mac.
if you saw why people blame yao, it was "how" he played. everybody has bad games. but nobody should lose confidence DURING a game. why do you think nobody was really critical of ron when he shot 3-16? or when he shot poorly again v. the blazers? yao "wilted" out there. that's supposed to be the best center and our best big man.
Do not Fret Let me explain to you why T-mac will change this year. Artest is becoming the undisputed leader of this team. T-mac like to defer responsibility because he thinks that the team cannot succeed without him. This is changing like all talented players their ability is matched by their ego. T-mac will see that an elite player who does not lead will find himself relegated to a lesser position by his teamates because he does not command their attention or respect. Just be patient watch how the team responds including Yao oppose to how they respond to T-mac
T-Mac needs to freaking pass the ball and play the offense. What drives me crazy is that last year was pretty much proof that he can do well in Adelman's offense. Why he refuses to put out the effort is a mystery.
Everyone has off nights. The players aren't robots. T-Mac just finished 0 for 5 with 2 points. Artest went 3 for whatever against Boston. That's just the way human beings work.
he still is not healthy enough to fully run adelman's offense. that's why you haven't seen one single curl screen play for tracy. give him time. but he is passing. it's not a coincidence that scola is playing well the last few games and you can attribute that to tracy if you watch the game. and that's why you also see scola is on the floor a lot with tracy. we'll get there. offense will come. the rebounding and defense are more grave concerns b/c they used to be our identity. we're not playing like the rockets at all.
again, i don't mind the off-nights. yao had a "quiet' night v. the clippers offensively but i thought he played terrific b/c he was more aggressive and wanted to block shots and rebound. my problem was HOW he "wilted" after he got his shot blocked and really lost his confidence. you should never let a block shot disrupt how you play your game.
Before last night T-Mac had at least 5 assists in each game this season. That's called passing the ball, believe it or not. Also, did you miss the two games before last night? He has been letting the game come to him this year. Last night he was gassed from the night before and the rockets depth allowed him to rest. You are just whining to whine, which is ridiculous.
He still holding onto the ball way too long. If he doesn't have a shot he needs to pass out quickly. The key to the motion offense isn't just passing, it's quick passing. Holding onto the ball is a recipe for disaster.
like i said constantly, EVERYBODY loves to point the finger at tracy. tracy BARELY played last night, did you see more fluidity? did you see more cuts? did you see a better offense? did you see higher energy? the answer to all of that is NO. but hey, when our offense is stagnant, just point the finger at tracy. it's an easy target. but what people don't get is none of our guys are runners except for aaron brooks and possibly scola. that's why we seem quicker only when aaron is on the floor. yao doesn't want to run; artest doesn't want to run; tracy also doesn't want to run; barry doesn't want to run; basically most don't want to run. on one play yesterday, after yao got the rebound, both yao AND artest just leisurely walked up the court and the clips' announcers said, "see they don't want to run at all." it's just our personality. we have individual greatness players, not bibby or peja or webber who thrive on the princeton offense. adelman will adjust.
