Cry,cry, cry We had our chance and our owner f**ked it up going cheap and then dumping CP3. Don't blame the Suns, or Raptors, or anybody because they got a few breaks, it's part of sports.
is it the suns fault nuggets coach didnt know how to minute manages murray and wanted the higher seed letting him go hardest in the meaningless rs game? its all part of the game people play hard ( and get injured) because of the luck of the skill or overall chemistry of the team or lack of smart plays and bad coaching and this is the part of the game is it the suns fault lakers traded healthy role players and even allstars for injury prone AD? this is the part of the game its bad GMing, bad minutes management and bad coaching... btw ad was of a terrible health his entire career ,its not luck, same goes for kawhi durant warriors wouldnt repeat if not for the refs, lebron cavs didnt repeat, lebron lakers didnt repeat ...lebron had trouble even getting to the playoffs in the west...lololol ...kawhi teams never repeated if suns win it all its as a legit championship team as they get
That was a freak accident? it wasnt because of minutes Sure I mean if AD can stay healthy, its pretty much an instant trip to the finals though. AD is a top 10 player who is worth it The likelihood of every single one of them getting injured again is very low. But they did repeat, he repeatedly went to the finals though. Kawhi is overratted though They are legit......but there is no doubt that injuries helped them and helped them immensely. Im not gonna just dismiss that fact.
The likelihood of Team USA beating the Soviet hockey Dream Team was also very low. Maybe we need to put an asterisk on these dudes' gold medals. They were not the real champions. They certainly didn't repeat the same feat. (How do you know that the Lakers would be in the Finals if AD didn't get hurt? How do you know that the Nets would be in the Finals if Kyrie and Harden didn't get hurt? There is something called "upset" in sports, in case you haven't heard about it.) Spoiler
The Nets were up 2-0 with just Kyrie and KD lol. They then had a gimpy Harden and it still went to 7. Give me a break. You guys can bet against a healthy Lebron, AD and Kawh I wont. Im not putting any asterisk's anywhere. But its really ridiculous how its swung so far in the other direction that we cant even mention its a pretty weak road to the chip. You cant objectively change that.
murray was fresh being back from injury and nuggets coach insisted on playing him in a very competitive game where if i recall well they almost suceeded in coming back from a huge deficit and making it a close game but still lost...he should have sat him...
what was the likelihood of every starting pg being injured vs golden state warriors for their first title? does that meant they will will never repeat?
agree but actually this could be said about every single title... i somewhat agree every ring should have an asterix...a lot of luck is involved for every champion thats perhaps is why there are games played every year because being the best is a very transitory thing, things change and they change quickly sometimes by the day...
New Orleans and Minny were both in the bottom 5 in games missed due to injury this year. Yeah, sure it's all about luck. Availability is the best ability, stop crying. I'll agree that they were lucky but no one, least of all Rockets fans, should bring up asterisks.
The Suns were the #2 seed in the regular season for a reason. They are a good team. As hakeem34 said, the Lakers traded away all their depth to rely on a 45 year old LeBron and AD, who has been injured for most of his career. The Lakers got lucky last year that both those guys stayed healthy, and their role players played like all stars in the playoffs. They saw the flip side of that coin this year. The Nuggets still had their MVP, and they were dominated 4-0. I don’t see the Nuggets winning that series even if Murray had played. The Clippers would have been more of a challenge in theory with Kawhi, but he too has a long history of injuries, including 2017, which eased the way to the Warriors championship. In other words almost every champion has some luck along the way.
It's their time, I and a lot others just have to accept it. The Nuggets plus Jamal and Jokic are still one Allstar away. It's tough for them. So close but no cigar in the West.
We got lucky when the Nuggets and Dikembe beat the Supersonics. It's part of sports and should NOT count against any accomplishemetnt.
In 20 years, a certain group of posters will still be whining about how this should have been Harden's championship, and nobody will care. That makes me happy. =)
And what about the countless other injuries that have nothing to do with minutes? Which is pretty much the majority of them?
Neither the Suns nor the Bucks are as good as them and the Lakers, Clippers and Nets are farther better than them fully healthy.
This is absolutely correct. The Rockets dodged a huge bullet for both championships when the Sonics were upset in the first round both years. If there is any asterisk for the 94-95 Championships it should be for that, not Jordan. The Sonics were like the Warriors for the early 90s Rockets. They knocked the Rockets out of the playoffs both the year before and the year after the championships. The Rockets could not beat the Sonics.
