I doubt it. Jeremy was signed to a weird poison pill contract at ~5mil for 2 years and 15 the third year, which is not too far off from the 34mil over 4 years Goran is getting in Phoenix. And Houston probably would've done better with Goran instead of Jeremy, increasing Dwight's interest in the team. Heck Goran might've even been invited to Chandler's sales pitch last July. Going back on this old history is pretty worthless, but I never quite understood why Houston was unwilling to hold onto either Goran or Lowry.

That said, everything else OP wrote is a bunch of junk. Marcus Morris was unhappy backing up PPat. Do you really think Morey wanted to let him go for a 2nd round pick? He was 14th pick overall in 2011, and showed upside. And Gerald Green trained with the KGB for 2 years after he was sent home by Morey.

But good try on trolling during the long vacation between games.

WOW! Even I who have complained about Morey many times in the past can see the stupidity in this.

Without trading Morris we couldn't sign Dwight. Even then DMo is a 7 footer who is younger with more upside. Morris is a tweener who on his third year in the league is close to his peak. Morris will never be the defender DMo and never be a true PF with his weak ass rebounding and zero shotblocking skills.

Dragic was a disappointment to lose but Les wanted Lin back at whatever the cost. Can't blame that on Morey. Les likes his Asian money train connection.

Green was an out of his mind stoner nincompoop when he was with us. I am glad he's got it semi figured out but that wasn't gonna happen here with all his old buddies hanging around.

You do realize we traded Marcus Morris so we could have room to sign Dwight?

Goran Dragic is essentially the Harden of the Suns whereas Lin is just a role player for the Rockets so of course Dragic has better numbers.

Gerald Green did nothing when he was with us. He was known as a chucker with no basketball iq and never got PT because he was playing behind Tmac.

Morey has made some bad decisions but settle down man.

Not signing Dragic and his 4th year player option has nothing to do with Dwight signing... but it has everything to do with 2015 free agency where Durant and Lebron becomes unrestricted free agents...

you must remember at that time, Rockets was insignificant, barely a mediocre team... we had no chance of signing any superstar free agent... we weren't even thinking the possibility of dwight coming over at that time because we all thought that he will never leave the lakers... we also didn't know that it was even remotely possible to sign harden... preparing for 2015 was the next most logical route for the rockets if they ever plan on becoming significant again... and Dragic's preferred contract would prevent that...

Lol @ the Dragic-Lin thing. I agree Dragic is much better right now and he totally got snubbed for All Star, but using basic stats to grade that is ridiculous. Dragic is first option and Lin is fourth and playing off the bench. While we'd be better with Dragic, he'd only average like 15 and 6 at the maximum here.

Both franchises seem to be doing well so it doesn't matter

Why don't we wait for the end of the next two season and then we can decide. I'd personally rather have Dwight and Harden over Morris and Dragic. You seem to forget how the Rockets got to were they are now. If they pay more for Dragic they would have the assets they have now, key star players. Also, players and stats are different depending on the dynamics of each team. Playoffs are different game from regular season, lets see what happens there. The Harden trade and Dwight acquisition far out weighs any reason you have given to why Morey is "incompetent". A lot of premature ejaculation going on here. We shall call him the "13 Year Old Negatron", king of premature ejaculation and negativity.

Am I the only one who suspects JCDenton is Carl Herrara's parody account?

JC Denton should go back to playing the Invisible War computer game. Leave the basketball discussion for grown ups.

I give the original post an F.

If Dragic was here he would be spot up shooter like Lin and be fourth scoring option. Thus limiting his impact. Harden will alway be allowed to be ballhog as he on bigger money.
    Please stop these stupid thread.
Watch when Lin leaves the rockets and become 1st or 2nd scoring option, his stats will go off.

On the contrary DM is always considering cap implications. While he certainly couldn't have foreseen do x and y will happen, the fact remains Lins cap hit - for the rockets - is smaller than Dragics because of the structure. When you consider they were giving away guys like TRob (overrated but still they were taking obvious losses to shed salary), PPat, Morris (as noted), Furkan (to get rid of Royce's salary)... All to sign Dwight.. Then yeah, it all plays a part.

Would I love all three plYers the OP mentions on this squad? Absolutely.

And if the Suns could find a way to acquire Pau Gasol for almost nothing, they may be more than first round fodder. But as is, their upside is last years Nuggets. Their downside is still missing the playoffs (with Bledsoe out).

Hornacek is a serious COTY candidate though.

Marcus Morris - Cap space for Dwight

Gerald Green - out of the league from 2010-2012!

    Goran Dragic per 36 - Age 24-25, 136 games, 12.6 FGA, 45.1%FG, 34.7% 3pt, 73.1%FT, 6.7AST, 3.3TOV, 15.6Pts
    Jeremy Lin per 36 - Age 24-25, 121 games, 11.9 FGA, 44.8%FG, 33.6% 3pt, 79.1%FT, 6.3AST, 3.2TOV, 15.1Pts

Dragic came in with a 3pt shot, a little more polish and a lot more heart/aggression/confidence. But they're damn near the same player when you compare them at identical points in their careers. The only clear reason I'd take Dragic is he's 2 years further along, and would've already been in place before Harden so it would be unlikely even McHale could **** it up. Instead, we got a PG who's a bit more green, so McHale installed the Mike Brown/Mike Woodson "Superstar go make something happen so I can keep my job" offense on top of Morey's paint/3's/transition.

Hornecek has a great deal to do with the Suns performance this year.
