I like to think that I brought the camel colored shoes/belt to the Midtown Houston scene. That's my contribution. I have a few stripey's, but typically go with a solid colored button-down, tucked in to reveal my matching belt and shoes. If you do have the bod to untuck -- be sure not to button the shirt up too high, as a way to counterbalance any woman's fears of being uptight -- as a result of the shirt tuck. Of course, the hairstyle is another way to mitigate any negative repurcussions from the tuck. Always go with messier hair with a tuck.

That's weird that this article came up because I have several "Stripeys" that I used to wear a lot but I noticed recently that I feel a little reluctant to wear them now days.

My oldest Stripey is probably four years old by now, so it's really about time for that trend to fade. When we started selling them at JC Penney, I knew for sure that the look had jumped the shark.

I have three striped shirts in my closet for when I go out since I have nothing else but t-shirts in there.

But hey, at least I'm not sporting the frat boy, collar-popping, front-tucking look.

"Denise, a 37-year-old attorney who's wearing silver eye shadow, admits that if she were to have a one-night stand with a guy she met in a bar, he would be wearing the Stripey. Her friends all nod their heads vigorously. "

    Really well written. Congratulations.

P.S. I wouldn't be caught dead in a stripey shirt.
