I was seeing some polling showing several state races such as AZ senate and NC governor where the Democrats have opened up large polling leads. It’s no surprise that in those races it’s MAGA candidates running. In recent elections the Republicans have lost several races that they should’ve won easily because they’ve put forward awful candidates whose primary qualification is loyalty to Trump. Does anyone seriously think that running two time loser Kari Lake in Az is good idea? Yet she is running again and headed to likely an even worse loss with the backing of Trump and the Republican Party. Because Trump won and made it close in 2020 many Republicans seem to have this belief that MAGA is a winning formula. Trump though lost the popular vote both times and even if he wins this time will likely lose the popular vote again. Kari Lake, Herschel Walker, Mark Robinson etc also aren’t Trump and don’t have the branding power of Trump. As we see in states that in most recent elections are reliably red they are losing.
