You have to admit that the late 1800s Republicans were better than the late 1800s Democrats.

The current Republicans... Not so much.

if i remember my US history, up to the mid-1960s,

most sourtherners voted for the Dems, who opposed Lincoln's party.
almost all the blacks voted for the GOP, Lincoln's party.

The political dynamics changed / almost reversed upon the passage Civil Rights Act of 1964, under LBJ's presidency, a landmark civil rights and labor law in the United States that outlaws discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin.

True, though there was a general shift towards the Democrats to being more progressive in their approach to poverty staring with FDR.

the sad state of the Repugs---resorting to such intellectual dishonesty---just to score points.

in the run-up to the U.S.-Russia summit—the Biden admin had provided a $150 million package of security assistance, including lethal assistance.

but this was the convenient sleight-of-hand / lie perpetuated by little Marco

But the wife of former U.S. Army lieutenant colonel Alexander Vindman, a key witness in the first impeachment against Trump, who was later fired by Trump for telling the truth,
would have none of little Marco's convenient lie.

yet another eg of intellectual dishonesty / lies by Repugs

Dr. Anthony Fauci has been a public health expert for ~ 5 decades, serving POTUS from both parties (Reagan, Clinton, both Bushes, Obama, Trump and Biden)

yet that liar from Arkansas, Senator Tom Cotton, on FoxNew, makes up this lie about Dr. Fauci

Tony Fauci is not acting like a scientist or a doctor anymore. Why doesn’t he tell us what science, what data backs up the Biden administration's
mandate for masks in airports and airplanes? https://www.foxnews.com/media/tom-cotton-fauci-democrat-activist-covid-china

    • Cotton shows us that he is too stupid to understand that viruses are not static, they mutate and spread

this is the same chicken **** who was silent when Trump

    • calling COVID a hoax invented by the Democrats
    • recommending that we ingest cleaning solutions to fight off COVID

Yep the current Republicans are just the former Southern Democrats that left the party when it was no longer blatantly racist thanks to LBJ. They left the party of Lincoln since he freed the slaves to join the Democrats and then left them once LBJ passed those Civil Rights bills. The history of the current party calling themselves the GOP is to follow whatever party is white supremacist. If McConnel and the rest started supporting reparations they’d head back to being Democrats.

Since they haven’t actually been conservative in decades they should just rename themselves the NRA. Rifles and racism is all they stand for anyway.

LOL... the senator should have paid attention in school, since Teddy Roosevelt was not a "conservative"... he was known as a conservationist since he founded the national park system, and was one of the leaders in the progressive movement as he went against big business, proposed the welfare state, and supported labor unions. But the dog is cute... And also shoutout to officer Goodman in the background, who protected members of congress like Theo's owner against the trump inspired terrorist attack on the capitol.

meanwhile trump is the only president who called for confiscating guns without a court order. if biden, obama or any other democrat had said this yall would still be freaking out about it...but trump said it and his supporters didnt care.

"I like taking guns away early," Trump said. "Take the guns first, go through due process second."

im not really saying anything about trump as much as saying something about his supporters. im pointing out the hyporcisy of right-wingers being paranoid about democrats taking your guns when trump actually called for doing it without a court order and none of them cared at all.

What do Republicans even stand for any more? Guns, oil, and cutting regulations and taxes for the wealthy business owners and corporations.

It's anything BUT a conservative party now. A bunch of full blown radical hypocrites and traitors who stand for what? It just seems like their entire platform is about being against anything the Democrats propose, and spreading propaganda and lies.

They love stirring up the white racists by constantly throwing out the BLM and Antifa remarks about anything, while never mentioning the crimes their white criminal friends and hate groups commit. They love blaming the immigrants for the crimes. They just don't seem to care about the ones who need help most. Ted Cruz has become as bad as Trump. I don't believe a word out of his lying mouth any more.
