It happened at about 8 p.m. on July 14 at the Mar-Jac Poultry plant in Hattiesburg, Forrest County deputy coroner Lisa Klem said.

Workers under the age of 18 are not allowed to work in poultry plants because it’s deemed to be too dangerous and therefore a violation of child labor laws.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division have launched investigations into the incident, a spokesperson said.
Any company found to be in violation could face a federal fine of more than $30,000 per incident.

The death was caused by equipment at the plant, Klem said, adding that the results of an autopsy will be released Wednesday.

No, it's more akin to the gall bladder surgery because timeliness is an important consideration. Vasectomies and cosmetic surgery can wait for a convenient time, but a pregnancy will continue to develop and delays make the ultimate abortion more burdensome, medically and ethically.

I did notice many were older. Not sure if they were easier to dupe in their dotage, or these are people who figure they've got nothing left to lose at their age. In any case, you're never too old to be convicted of your crimes.

Timeliness isn't an issue with the new rules at all, because the rules don't change the timing, they give you additional leave and additional money. You can use your accrued leave and your own money on the same time schedule. Passing Tuberville's changes (which is really just a return to the system that was in place for decades until a short time ago) simply stops the grant of additional leave and funding.

But access to care is much more limited now for some soldiers because of state laws so some would have to take additional time and spend additional money to get the same care they would have had before. So it doesn't make sense to continue the legacy policy as if abortions weren't outlawed in a bunch of states.

It isn't the job of the military to try to circumvent state laws.

A woman volunteers to serve her country. She is assigned to a base depending on the needs of the mission. She could be stationed at Travis Air Force Base in CA or in Camp Lynchblacks in Alabama. So based on the luck of the draw, she gets access to local medical care in CA but not in AL? Seems the federal government should step in in cases like this and ensure consistency and fairness to all people that serve our country.

It's their job to take care of their soldiers.

I could see Ted Cruz do the same thing. It's sad, but the NRA probably rewards them for stunts like that. They have no shame.

I’m busy with a deadline for work so just scrolling but wanted to respond to this.

The military circumvents state and local laws all the time. They currently dont follow state laws regarding legalization of mar1juana in states that have legalized and when the military integrated in 1948 bases in the south weren’t following local segregation laws.
