i do say so. many republicans do as well. and not trump cult members, but actual conservative republicans.
Serious question: Does the party care about facts? I know there are members of the party that still do. But does the party? Facts: The election was not stolen. Trump lost in a fair election Covid19 was real and a legitimate threat and pandemic. The Republican Party doesn't seem like they have a clear stance on these facts. I would love some clarification.
Do you think January 6th was a joke? Do you think the fact that Mitch McConnell spent 20 minutes on February 13th stately bluntly that trump was morally responsible for the assault on the Capital, that it was “a disgraceful, disgraceful dereliction of duty” - that McConnell was just kidding? That now, when he is refusing to consider a bipartisan investigation into the circumstances that led to the insurrection on January 6th, that we should all chuckle and perhaps declare that “it’s just politics.” Share a laugh? In fact, McConnell blocked any chance of an investigation. A major influential figure in the Republican Party blatantly, hypocritically siding with trump, who continues to loudly claim to whoever will listen, and millions do, the baseless lie that Biden’s victory in November wasn’t a victory at all. That the election was stolen. The Republican leader in a closely divided Senate in effect pretending that he didn’t really say those things back in February, and if he did, that he was misunderstood. In doing so, he has sided with trump and trump’s attack on the bedrock of our democracy, the Congress of the United States, while it sat in session officially determining the winner of the presidential election. That Republican Party. It is no joke and I am more than a little surprised that you appear to make it out to be just that, something to joke about. It isn’t the least bit funny. I hadn’t looked into this thread until now, there are so many, but I chose to look at the last page and was led to several replies to you, some lengthy, with short pithy remarks by you in return. Eventually I saw the reason. You know exactly why. You really need to search for your sense of humor, which seems to be misplaced, in my opinion.
It's also possibly the single most hypocritical thing ever posted here, in a forum about politics and religion, which is an impressive feat.
Note, its Gay Pride Month, so of course, desantis has to show his hate... JTA lit the Acosta Bridge in rainbow colors for Pride. A day later, it changed it back https://www.jacksonville.com/story/...hting-jacksonvilles-acosta-bridge/7613184002/
Americans Are Dangerously Divided on the Insurrection Too many Republicans support it, and too many Americans don’t want to investigate or prosecute it. https://slate.com/news-and-politics...rrection-investigation-voter-fraud-polls.html
As far as the role Ted Cruz and his fellow GOP Senators took in inciting the insurrection, here's a fitting anagram for Senator. Treason
Well…Americans are dangerously divided on Democracy so it should shock no one that a party who is openly autocratic in promotion of an apartheid state supports an insurrection happening when they lose an election. When are people going to wake up and realize what the Right wing of America has become and coalesce around a strong enough coalition that has enough support to save Democracy? From the Joe Manchins to the tech billionaires in corporate America to the citizens who are more concerned about who the Texans are going to take in the 5th round to super progressives who think the Dems are bought and sold… all of them need to realize the gravity of the situation and need to work together to shore up Democracy or we are done here folks. We might still be able to technically call ourselves whatever we want, but we are close to being anything but a pluralistic democracy.
