Good plan, if they'll take you. Being on the young side of life will help immensely. I think a bunch of moderates and liberals in America are kidding themselves that we can "just get past" some temporary difficult time. I'm in it for the long haul, or however long I survive the increasingly gleeful and violent wingers, but with eyes open.
My wife's degree field is on the long-term skill shortage list, so hopefully, our family should be good on that end. I've been racking my head on how to get out of this country for over 6 years now, I was already well over it all before Trump happened. The environmental degradation, the healthcare system, the education system, the violence/lack of safety, the poverty, the systemic unwillingness to improve the quality of life for the working class over the last 4-5 decades. All of this **** that's happened over the last 5 years? The attempt to tear down our anemic one-legged democracy, the anti-science and intellectualism movement? Icing on the **** cake.
If someone in Texas runs on an - I'm tired of old white people making policy in this state - platform. Shietttt. I'm in. I'll vote twice. Don't @ me.
This country isn't getting better. Trump has metastasized. The body will continue to sicken and die a very slow death. Or so it seems. My wife and I would also love a move but whether it remains fantasy we'll see. Mexico? (My preference.) Costa Rica? (My wife's; there are spots there it stays 82 degrees every day.) If only my tin-eared wife (God love her) could learn Spanish. Her native Portuguese both hinders and helps. Sigh.
No seismologist, wife is an environmental scientist We'll just keep our asses up in the northland area where the ground don't shake much and the weather is pretty much perfect year-round.
She's still got about a year before she's finished but her degree focuses on chemistry and conservation.

it’s scary to think of how someone as stupid as trump was able to create such a cult following. If someone who is actually intelligent takes his place we are in a world of trouble.
My greatest wish is to see Cruz, Hawley and Patrick be featured in the next "Jigsaw" movie. Trump I'm saving for the "Drag Me To Hell" reboot.
