From what is being reported it was not an either or and it makes sense if you think about it.

Do you think they did not try and do a package deal do you not think they know how bad this looks?

I really don't understand how you can have "Hate" for any of this, especially when you don't know what the circumstances are of your Brother and what he was doing over there.

    Wait?

Do you actually think they have not made any attempt at making a swap for this guy?

    Really?

My own flesh and blood brother goes to jail.. That doesn't mean I should disown him.... The same with the military... I may not be proud of what someone has done or I may not agree with what they have done.. but they're still my BROTHA..

So now we have both Whalen and Reed that did a crime and they have to be responsible for the time...

Also, It doesn't matter if someone is in the kitchen, behind a desk, driving transportation, working the flight line or on the front line.. They're still my BROTHA... Everyone has a job to do and we all went thru basic the same as pledging a fraternity... We all crossed the burning sands..

yet there is no outrage from u for Reed not having to “do the time”…Biden got him out…he was arguably even dumber than Griner

so I take it u were perfectly fine with Trump doing nothing to try and get Whalen out…Is that correct? He should actually just rot there since he was found guilty?

If it was your loved one getting 9 years in a Russian prison for some minor thing, u would shrug your shoulders and say “do the crime, do the time?”

See there you go trying to speak for me and bait me....

I have been clear with my statements and my stance.. Again.... I have relatives that are in and out of prison.. They made their decision... Now they have to pay the consequnces....

Now for your question on the shoulder shrug... If they did a crime in another country such as Singapore, Russia or etc.. Then unfortunately they have to pay the consequences...

No I am not mad at Trump... Reed committed a crime, so I have no problem with Trump not making that trade... Now that I know that Whalen also created a crime, I have no problem with him doing his time...

Yes I do have a problem with SWAP...

I don't know how much clearer I have to be on this... I have had the same response each time you guys have tried to cross examine me and I will continue to have the same response.... If these individuals did the crime then they have to pay the time... Military and Non-Military...

so u mean to tell me that if your family member got some ridiculous corrupt sentence while overseas, your response would simply be “they have to pay the consequences” and u wouldn’t want the United States to try and bring them home

Are u for real right now?

It's not like these people were wrongfully convicted... They knowingly committed a crime and if one of family members knowingly committed a crime then yes they have to pay the consequences....

These individuals committed a crime in another country, but amazingly you like others want them to be judge and pay the same consequences as if they were in America... Their country, their laws...

Again, you and others can ask this question to me 100 different ways and I am still going to have the same answer...

See again you are turning my words around...

If they were wrongly convicted you damn right I am going to fight for them.... But if you knowingly committed a crime then you made a bad decision and have to pay for that... I never said I stopped loving my family or i'm disowning them... But they made a bad decision and have to be responsible for that decision...

    I didn’t twist anything

if Reed or Griner was my family member and was down there imprisoned in Russia, I’d have been fighting for their return like their families did…you’ve made it more than clear that u wouldn’t and would just leave them there to rot

Sounds privileged to work in an enemy country, break their laws because they were inconvenient, then ask your home country to bail you out through international incident.

I'm glad she's back, but the mentions of "hero" on social media (for social justice?) sound more like shitshow

JR is like the amped up Coked up version of Trump and DeSantis, moving those hands like they are playing their air accordions.

    That's definitely not privilege lol.

Keep in mind that her being a black lesbian also probably made her a larger target for the Putin regime to recognize her and feel like she would be a good culture wars pawn to dangle in front of Americans.

Being threatened for 8 years of your life being in a labor camp for bringing in vape cartridges for personal use isn't privilege.

Ask yourself sincerely if you really want that "privilege".

People don't seem to understand the entire reason Griner was the only one Putin was willing to release right now.

We are the reason. This thread right here. Putin knew it would sow division and outrage. He has been doing this for years. The right didn't give a damn about Whelan until this swap. Even Whelan's own family says this.

Somehow we Americans seem to believe we have a plethora of low-level Russian offenders in our jails just waiting to be swapped. We don't. We do not arrest Russian citizens on bullshit charges. By Russia's own laws anything less than 6 grams is possession and subject to 15 days in jail and a fine. They charged her with smuggling, days before they invaded Ukraine to use her as a political pawn knowing it would stoke division and outrage. As usual the American public fell for it.

You know what they wanted for Whelan? A prisoner in Germany. We went to Germany and asked for him. They told us to get ****ed. So was it an equal swap? Of course not. Will it ever be an equal swap with Russia? NO. Again we do not arrest low-lever Russian offenders!
