The action of the mob on January 6 was an indefensible disgrace. It is deserving of both political accountability and criminal prosecution. Aspects of it are also fit subjects for a properly conducted congressional inquiry. It is wrong to minimize or excuse what happened that day.
The real problem with Republicans is they have no ability to be objective; If they support the issue then the end justify the means entirely. If the roles were reversed and Trump was about to be confirmed and a group of liberals or BLM or Antifa or whatever broke into the Capitol this Country would have been put into martial law and every member of that group whether present or not would have been rounded up like the Japanese after Pearl Harbor. The rhetoric would have been obscene and there would have been violence across the country much, much worse than these random anti-Asian attacks. This bounty hunter program that we are seeing now for voter fraud or teaching CRT would have been legitimately bring us a BLM/Antifa body for cash. The GOP would have demanded they all be treated as traitors and given the death penalty; not the slaps on the wrist these waste of carbon cretins are receiving right now. This country would be very very different right now if the roles were flipped. We’d probably all be taking loyalty oaths daily like this was North Korea. But because it was their base and they disagree with the election results they are b****ing about a damn inquiry and censuring their own members for not falling into line. I’m not sure if it’s a lack of empathy, emotional intelligence or just a mental disorder but they just can’t fathom how hypocritical they are.
