Let's talk about the state of the Democratic party, their elected officials, and their voters.

Trump - Indicted on more than 91 charges by 4 different juries.

Members of the party trumpet him to be Speaker of the House. His poll numbers rise.

When Democratic Senator Menendez is indicted, 12 of his fellow Democratic congressmen call on him to resign. The Democratic voters? Menendez poll numbers are horrible even as incumbent. This is among just Democratic voters. He's at 5% and losing badly against his primary opponents.

So while the Democratic party has fault after fault. They aren't "just as bad" as the Republicans. That is true among their voters, their officials, and party in general.

Meanwhile, you have some Republicans pretending it doesn't matter because they claim not to support Trump. They continue to ignore him, and look what happens. The other Republicans are scared to attack him in the debates. Trump is dominating the competition in the run for the nomination but they see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

These 'stand silent anti-Trump Republicans' are the reason why he still is in total control of the party. How many more violent attacks on our democratic institutions do you need?

The Democrats Are Their Own Worst Enemy

    https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/02/...e_code=1.7Uw.GVSF.DjXK50LPIujM&smid=url-share

link should work as a free article. Excerpt:

Democratic leaders seem too willing to settle for a kind of cheap progressivism — a carbon-neutral, virtue-signaling, box-checking update on what was once called limousine liberalism. But the Democratic Party cannot win and America cannot flourish if it doesn’t prioritize the economic well-being of the American majority over the financial interests and cultural fixations of an elite minority.

Biden has curtailed some of its shadow party’s economic agenda — less so its cultural and social policies. There, Judis and Teixeira argue, the party seems bent on imposing a narrow progressive stance on issues like race, “sexual creationism” (commonly known as gender ideology), immigration and climate, at the expense of more broadly shared beliefs within the electorate.

The moral values may differ at each extreme of the two parties, but their efforts to moralize can sound an awful lot alike to many Americans. Even though Democrats themselves are adopting “a pretty aggressive way to change the culture,” Teixeira told me, the Democratic Party acts as if anyone who reacts against the assumptions of its progressive wing is completely off base.

“There’s a certain amount of chutzpah among Democrats to assume that it’s only the other side pursuing a culture war,” he said.

a better eg has been 31 Dems voting not to expell the Con man George Santos

The resolution to expell the con man was introduced by Santos' fellow freshman Republicans from New York.

24 Republicans broke with their party and voted to expel Santos, but 31 Democrats voted against expelling him. in the endm the con man survived

The Democrats voting not to expel Santos isn't being their own worst enemy. Having a Republican like Santos in the House is a bonanza for Democrats. Same for MTG. The more clowns the GOP has serving in government, the more campaign ads write themselves. You think the Democrats want some Constitutional Law scholar in Colorado's delegation instead of the woman who was caught on video giving her Dem boyfriend a handy in a crowded theater? It is the same reason Republicans wouldn't want to replace Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tlaib with other Democrats. If you are not going to gain a seat by expelling the opposition member, it is better to have someone that everyone on your side thinks it preposterous or evil or stupid, etc. The last thing you want is someone that is strong and effective in opposing your goals.

convenient false equivalency on your part.
    • George Santos is a con man,
      • he lied his way to win the election.
      • has committed crime in Brazil and in the US.
      • is being investigated for campaign finance violation
      • is being indicted for crime, including the attempt to steal money from his donors
      • his fellow Republican lawmakers are introducing the resolution to expel him from Congress
    • these don't apply to the other lawmakers that you've mentioned

All of those things are why the Dems should want him there representing the GOP. I never said they were all equivalent, I only said the opposition party is happy to have them there to drive donations and use in campaign ads.

Timothy Kennedy, a Democratic New York state senator, has won the special election for the Congressional seat vacated by the retired Democrat Brian Higgins.

Kennedy easily defeated his Republican opponent Gary Dickson for New York's 26th district seat, which includes Buffalo and Niagara Falls.

While Kennedy's victory was widely anticipated in the left-leaning district, the vote margin between both candidates was much larger than forecast.

Kennedy won by more than 36 percentage points—a massive performance by the Democratic Party. The Cook Political Report, an independent newsletter that analyzes elections and campaigns, had expected Kennedy to win the seat by 9 percentage points.

The Democratic senator's triumph to take the temporarily vacant seat means that the Republican Party's narrow majority in the House of Representatives is now even thinner and reduced to a single vote. He will serve until the end of the year and will be then run in the general election.

Just saw an illustration of the state of the Democratic Party where a progressive was saying that the President who has passed more legislation on issues that matter to progressives isn’t doing much.

You need to seriously lay off the social media. Its obvious you've just encountered twitter for the first time and its sincerely destroyed your brain. If you think "normies" think "evil fauci needs to go to hell" you seriously need to get off the internet.
