And Ralphie took over for Richie (sort of - there was that guy that died on the toilet just after taking over - the one who hit Patsi's twin) who had a son that was a ballet or ballroom dancer. Whole lotta gay themes on this show - ironic that Tony would complain about TV trying to shove the gay agenda down our "troats" - hmmm, more gay theme?
The scene at Dr. Melfi's office was hysterical. Going on and on and on about how gross it is, then sheepishly saying that lesbians are nice. And, I hope this doesn't offend and I'm kinda embarassed for laughing, but this quote cracked me up: "So what's the problem?" "Uh, he's a faaaaaaaaaaaaaag".
His delivery on that one put me on the floor. And Paulie's, "How much betrayal can I take" was hilarious. It's all about him.
So Christopher knocking out Lauren Bacall was the funniest thing in this episode. Anyone else thought about Artie's past confrontation with the French guy from season 4 when he went over to Benny's. Artie loves those foriegn hostesses.
Oh My God!!! Did I just see Christopher deck Lauren Bacall. Wow. Not to mention that this ep was pretty much Artie's finest moment. Great lines/scenes all over for Bucco. I usually don't go for tensely, cringe-worthy stuff, but the humor tempered it enough. Pretty good episode overall. Chrissey is pretty much on the road to ruin. I see him spiraling down and making some massive screw-up later this year. Snitching, jail, or death, I don't see it ending well. Too bad, I always liked him (Although he lost a lot when Adriana got popped. I loved her ever since the 2nd episode of the series. Her presence and no-nonsense attitude evened out a lot of his rough spots. Well, at least to me).
Can anyone else not stand that kid from Doogie Howser, M.D. playing Benny? I thought how most of the show revolved around Artie was lame, this show seems to be turning into a soap opera for men and moving away from being the edgy show it used to IMO..
The fact that they have storylines, and epsiodes like this, actually KEEPS it as edgy as possible (when you see the eventual violence). If you had nothing but tough-guy antics, stand-offs, and whackings... this show would get old really fast.
I agree, but it seems like the show is getting very stale as of late.. I can understand why the show isnt doing as well this season as HBO would have liked it to..
I thought last nights episode was the weakest this season. Hopefully they get back on track next week.
Excellent episode last night. Many of you feel that the show is slipping. I agree with Nick....if it were all whackings and mobster tough guy stuff, the Sopranos would have been cancelled years ago. Artie....I just love it when Artie goes nuts, because he is one character on the show that really cannot control himself. Shooting a rabbit in his backyard, going off on the kid mobster and then going over the line and getting paid for it by having his arm burned in a vat of marinara. And then, at the end, what is he cooking for the only couple in the restaurant? Rabbit! Christofuh....he is definitely on the Highway to Hell. He goes to Hollywood and starts to live his fantasy: cocaine and whores. He winds up going through a hooker's purse, acting like an idiot in front of Ben Kingsley, and mugging Lauren Bacall. I believe he will be dead or in jail before this season ends. Who would have thought Little Carmine would be the "smart one" while pitching a movie script? Rusty, The Little Guy...Goodbye Frankie Valli (I love you baby, but if it's quite alright, I need you baby, to warm a lonely night....) The turns by Ben Kingsley and Lauren Bacall as themselves were terrific, and yes, the celebrity schwag factor was done up quite nicely. I believe the next things that will happen will be the credit card scam will take a turn because the Arab dudes that are getting the credit card numbers from Tony's crew will turn out to be Al Qaeda. I also think Vito will return to New Jersey....and get whacked.
So Christopher approved of the entire credit card scam with Ben and the Arabs? It seems like Tony thinks it was the crew doing it without Christopher's permission because he ran off to California.
Remember that in the episode before this one, Christofuh was getting a lapdance at the Bada Bing and stopped it to hand over a disk with credit card numbers on it to the two Arab dudes. They gave him a basket of dates for Tony. Christofuh knew all about it. He just didn't know they were running it at Vesuvio.
Finally saw it last night...I thought it was a pretty good one, with Artie going nuts and the poor rabbit...mmmm...The fight scenes were pretty good as Vinny can't beat anyone up... Mugging Lauren Bacall was priceless...All that free stuff Christopher was trying to get from Ben was hilarious... The countdown to vito is on...
Another great episode last night. They are really trying to tie alot of long-standing loose ends together. AJ...bringing a knife into the mental ward when he goes to see Uncle Junior, and dropping it, was classic. Like Tony said, his heart is in the right place, but he needs to grow up. His partying is out of control, he's spending money like a madman, and now his friends are asking him for favors, and he has developed panic attacks just like his Dad. Will "growing up" include getting a job with his father's "company"? We shall see.... Tony....is this the first time he has ever turned down a piece of poontie? And Juliana Marguiles of all women! Maybe the stay in the hospital taught Tony something after all. Selling the property to Jamba Juice might cause some disloyalty among his soldiers. Vito...takes care of his wife and kids, misses them, but stays up in NH and hooks up on the down low. Interesting how when the coffee shop cook/firefighter first came onto him he got all macho, but then his natural instincts take over. I still say he will return to New Jersey....and get whacked. The scene with Vito watching the fire, and seeing the kid get saved, illustrates what I think is the main theme this season: Mobsters, tired of their lifestyles, looking for guidance....spiritually or otherwise.
was the guy at the club asking him to help him get his deposit back the kid from those verizon commercials that has a new job and his friends keep calling him and doing stupid things?
"Maybe we should get him his own club so he can learn some responsibility.." "Tony, he cant even legally drink yet.." "Oh yeah.." That had me LMAO..
