Yeah, you gotta have at least 2 members of the classic lineup to call yourselves whatever band you're touring as IMO. You can play whatever music you want, but don't use the name. Look at the current version of Guns and Roses.

Whoever that drummer is, he sounds like he's trying to mimic JC's playing in that track posted in the OP. I listened to it and thought is was JC until I checked wiki.

The more I listen to this album the more impressed I am... this is a classic album by TSP.

Am I the only one that feels like the singer is one of the worst in professional business? His voice is so bad, I don't give a thing how good his writing skills or influence on the band are. Feel like if you bring in another singer for him I'd like their work, but to this day my ears are bleeding.

Corgan's voice is OK for heavy metal. He should leave everything else to another singer.

The Pumpkins were always one of my favorite bands and I think Corgan's voice is iconic, but I can understand how it would be divisive. It's a love it or hate it kind of thing. Another of my favorites with a vocalist like that is Placebo.

I saw SP a month ago in Calgary. They played the entire new album start to finish followed by a bunch of greatest hits.

The new album was actually pretty great live.

The hits were great, not "re-envisioned".

Yeah, but was anyone other than Billy actually from the original line up?

Nope. But when I saw them in 2008 with Chamberlain back in the lineup they were not as good as this version.

However in 2008 Corgan was in this post-Zetigeist heavy metal phase and he "reinvented" all his classics to make them more aggressive. Sorta irritating.

Well that's good I suppose. Haven't been a fan of their recent stuff.

If one guy wrote all the music and lyrics, why does it matter if the 'original' group is still there (if that's the case here; I'm not positive but that's the impression I get)? It would be like if people complained about Glenn Danzig still calling his band 'Danzig'.

I agree on the voice being terrible - just like Rush. Two bands I would love if not for the terrible voice.

They’ll be pulling from this list for their set list on the current tour.

    Iha
    Chamberlin
    Corgan

    All playing together.

    Sad they didn’t get Melissa.

They’ll also have jeff Shroeder, so 3 guitarists.

I’m stoked. This list is great.

And 3 out of 4 of the original line up! Just missing Darcy

If you’ve seen her lately she doesn’t
Look capable of playing an entire set. That’s why I was hoping they’d get Melissa.

Iha! I thought he hated everybody. That's fun. Bassists don't matter, they never matter, let's be honest.

The last time I saw them in Houston they were terrible. But I'll go with that lineup and that setlist. As long as it's not in the Woodlands. I'll never go there.

I actually met Corgan at Disneyworld two weeks ago randomly. Said he was excited for the tour.

No way it’s woodlands. They can’t fill that venue anymore

It was surprising listening to Corgan on Rogan's podcast. I enjoyed it more than when Tool's singer was on. Which I assumed would have been the opposite.
