Slowing the pace doesn't exhaust the players as much. This is why HOU very often dominates the 4th. This is also why Westbrook is complete trash during the 4th. The problem with trying to run HOU into the dirt is we are very deep.
Exactly what I was thinking as I read the statistics .... there have been so many possessions where they run a pick that leaves a big on either Harden or CP3 and then they take a little time to exploit the mismatch .... The result is the same in most cases getting a good shot , either a shot in the paint or an open 3. They are just being a bit more methodical in creating the mismatch to be exploited then attacking the paint where as earlier in the season they just came down and attacked the paint without creating the mismatch first.
Funny to call someone that went to MIT! I mean MIT dude, a idiot? Right now hes not looking real stupid at all Charles, lol..
poor @Carl Herrera . The Slower OPs got to this stat a day after you, and gained GARM traction. I'll copy my post here. The Pace stat per game is controlled equally by the opponent, and how fast they want to play on offense. Both teams have identical Pace (approx) stat at the end of the game. You can't make the opponent play their offense faster, just so the game's Pace number is higher. Pace Rankings of our February Opponents UTA = 25th DEN = 17th MIN = 23rd SAC = 27th MIN = 23rd DAL = 26th DEN = 17th MIA = 28th BKN = 7th CLE = 14th SAS = 29th dem some slow ass teams.
Exactly. That's why this stat doesn't mean much in a small sample size. The Rockets were close to bottom for the first month of the season, mostly because we played the Grizzles aka "The one-and-only slowest team in the NBA" four times in the first fifteen games or so. Probably they weren't last at that time, because they played us four times in their first fifteen games and we're above average in that category.
The beauty of it is that if we play slow, James and Chris are smart enough to find the weaknesses in the D and create mismatches. But if they try to make us play fast, were deep and are a MDA offense.
