After all this, I would SO love to meet the Griz in the second round of the playoffs... but I guess that would mean that Memphis would actually have to WIN *A* GAME in the playoffs at some point. Why didn't we trade down? From what I have seen/read/heard, Brewer and Battier are basically the same player with Brewer having more ceiling. If we didn't want Gay, why not trade down and get Brewer plus?
I would have been very happy with Brewer, but I don't think he'd help the team as much the first couple seasons.
I hope Battier is going to kill Gay on defense in the first meeting next season! i hope that will be Gay's first NBA game! i can see that happens! look out I'm sure MemphisX is not disinterested, he want to show how much Houston got ripped in that trade, he's also angry about his team, got blasted by Dallas in the playoffs... angry about Battier also obviously, Battier just got traded out of his Memphis team, so he dislikes him now, most of us have hated Francis from the moment he got traded, that's a familiar syndrome... Don't listen to every word this fan saying, he's not disinterested. that's all i saying.
Grizzs may very well be lottery bound next season without Battier. He's really the glue that held that team together in the past years.
Of course, Grizz fans may be getting to the point where they are ok not losing every playoff game they ever play, miss the playoffs, have a lottery pick and a good, deep draft, and try again the next year.
even if the grizz goes past the first round, they can still be assured of the rocket's lottery pick if they have one..
Except Battier can shoot out to the NBA three point line while Brewer can't even shoot college threes.

did TMac really say this? LINK please! hmmm... if true, not sure what to make of what TMac is saying. he must evidently feel that his window is truly limited (win now), and no longer feel that he can turn Stro into an All-Star. lol.
Clutch, what I am puzzled by is how Rox plans to use Battier? First of all, I don't believe they traded for him to have him coming off bench. That's just too much for me to take (even if I am much calm now). Use him as starting 4? He will be punished by all the other Western conference teams. Use him at 3? Who is going to fight through screen to chase those shooting guards? Tmac? He may end up play 10 less games than last year... This is not flame Rox management anymore, just some real questions and concerns...
Look on the bright side, next year we will probably have a top 3 draft choice. However, we will probably trade that pick along with Battier to Memphis for S Swift. Lets see Justice put his spin on that trade.
