Well ya see, Seinfeld hasn't been of TV five years so it can't be in the HOF (right?) ;)

    Scrubs is like Lebron James!

Also, the "Who Shot Mr. Burns" episodes are up their too for providing possibly the best moment in the series history.

TESTER: Did you hold a grudge against Montgomery Burns?

MOE: No. (buzz) Alright maybe I did, but I didn't shoot him. (ding)

TESTER: It checks out. OK, sir, you're free to go.

MOE: Good, 'cuz I got a hot date tonight. (buzz) A date. (buzz) Dinner with friends. (buzz) Dinner alone. (buzz) Alright, I'm gonna sit at homeand ogle the ladies in the Victoria's Secret catalog. (buzz) Sears catalog.(ding) Now would you unhook this already please? I don't deserve this kindof shampy treatment. (buzz)

20+ posts, and no one's mentioned the Treehouse of Horrors specials. Inconceivable! :(

Someone did mention the halloween special.

I like Family Guy, but it definately doesn't out do The Simpsons. I work in England with a few Brits and even here the topic we cover the most is The Simpsons.

    Favorite Lines-

Comic Book Guy - "Is there a word in Klingon for loneliness? Ah Yes. EEK GLACK!"

    or

Burns - "Tell me Smithers, who's in charge of safety in sector 7G?"

Smithers - "7G? Why that's Homer Simpson sir."

    Burns - "New guy eh?"

    Best show ever.

Best show ever, but the last few years have been garbage IMO. I probably won't watch tonight's show unless I have nothing else to do, I've pretty much given up hope. It has turned from a very insightful show with lots of satire, into a regular "sitcom" with a lot of physical gags.

I got seasons 1 and 2 on DVD, I can't wait for more to come out.

But time does pass in Springfield, it just isn't as evident. Maude, Bleeding Gums Murphy, and Marvin Monroe are dead, Milhouse's parents are divorced, and they survived the Y2k bug, well Lisa and Marge did. Saying the time doesn't pass is like saying Smithers is straight...

I love the Simpsons, but I consider Seinfeld the "#1 greatest show of all time." I mean, how the heck do they come up with that stuff? Stuff that seems so unfunny when explaining it to others is hilarious on the show. Ever tried explaining "No soup for you" or "You double-dipped the chip!" to a non-Seinfeld watcher? Truly a classic.

I agree, though. The Simpsons was a great show in its heyday. Somewhere close to being up there with Seinfeld and Cheers.

Simpson's and Cheers are tied at #1 for me. i just can't decide. cheers was better for longer but nothing touched the simpson's at it's peak.

the other hilarious lie detector moment was from i believe the x-files episode where burns looks like an alien.

    homer is hooked up

agent: ok homer, we're going to ask you a series of questions and you simply respond with a yes or no. do you understand.

    homer: yes

and the machine explodes. i so didn't expect that. classic.

Is tonight's episode actually one 90 minute show?

According to my digital TV guide and the TV guide online it is 3 separatre 30 minute shows. I didn't read the details because I didn't want to know beforehand what it was about.

i believe the 300th episode is a 30 minute show and that there will be an additional hour of simpson's programming around the 300th episode. i'm not sure what the other hour is though.

It seems like you have it backwards...

I mean, when the Simpsons first started, the shows would have regular plots and nothing would be too crazy...like Homer would go to Burns' picnic and try to impress him with hilarious consequences and whatnot...It was really more of a traditional sitcom.

Now the shows barely have a plot, unlike regular sitcoms, and all the do is mock various things...

I think both ways were very funny!

This is semi-unrelated, but didn't they show the bart-butterfinger commercials before the shows actually started?

Way back so many years ago...wow, what a successful run!

The shows were good, but not good enough to make a big promotion out of it. Considering the build up I was dissappointed. However, they were funny.

I wonder...was that dig against the French added recently or had the episode already been completed earlier?

For those who missed it, Lisa and Marge were watching the news and Kent Brockman starts complaining about how it's such a slow news day. Then he's handed a piece of paper, and says "wait a minute, this just in, the city of Paris is no longer in existence..." And Marge turns off the TV like she didn't even hear it. :D

I dunno, but what was that one new? If so, what was with the new King of the Hill and that episode that were totally out of date?

It did remind me of Groundskeeper Willie from when he was the school's French teacher:

"Bon jjjjjjour you cheese eatin' surrender monkeys"

    :D

I was totally disappointed. Just another episode chock filled with sarcasm and mockery about modern society.

I mean the Ribwich? George Whatshisname Grill? Come on!!!

But I did love the "I thought it was 302"... "shhhh..." reference. Nice dig.

Also nice to see Barney fall off the wagon.

Funniest moment of the show was Apu doing that commercial holding that little American flag saying his store is "pro-america" and then timidly saying "please stop beating me up" at the end.
