The only way Yao is going to become a leader for this team is if he is absolutely forced into the role. In some ways, I think it might have been better if we got TMac a year or two later. Yao probably could have developed quicker into a franchise player if he had this team all too himself. But now, I suspect that when TMac comes back, Yao will probably revert back to his old, non-aggressive self.

The only thing is, I really think that T-Mac will be looking to get Yao involved. They showed that they can both put up big number against the Kings, and so far this season Yao's been looking for his shot more than he used to. The only difference is that he's had some games with foul trouble, or difficulty receiving the ball in the post. But the way he's stayed out of foul trouble and battled for post position in the past two games, gives me hope that he really turning a big corner here.

If you read my other posts I said point blank that I had NO DOUBTS Yao and T-Mac will win championships TOGETHER, just not with the current coach and these other players. What did I say that bashes Yao??? So what if Yao cannot lead an NBA team??? Hell, neither can Kobe and he was raised here!! Kobe has no leadership ability whatsoever, and he's one of the best, won rings, etc. I like both Kobe and Yao. But neither can lead.

Okay so I like the Mavs too. They got a great coach and a cool owner. :D

I said head and shoulders better. See that arguably in your post, that's what I meant. Last year, he still didn't feel he was the better player himself. So he was defering to Steve and Steve was defering to him back. With T - Mac injured, it became Yao and the scrubs, and he knows he has to be the one to lead.

I didn't read any of that in his post. I think he was saying that Yao said in China (as in Chinese media?) that you can't change his temperment. When did he say Yao represented Chinese in his post? You made that connection on your own.
