At this point the basketball season is pretty disappointing.. UK and the Rockets... I have hopes that both will turn around. Yall did DAMAGE on the glass. Having no Patterson really hurt us down low. Though it was good to have Meeks back. Chuck was there.. as was Keith Bogans (Magic in town), Luther Head, Clyde and Bill, and Tmac. Those are the only ones I could pick out. If yall saw Chuck's face in the second half.. that's how all UK fans feel right about now... dismayed. Good game, well fought. At least we didn't roll over and die like we did in the Indiana game. Yall should do well in C-USA. UAB hould be no problem. Isn't Memphis in your league too??
oops. didn't keep up with the nominations this year. wait, I was meaning the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, not the College Basketball Hall of Fame...
Great win for the program. Kentucky in a down year is still Kentucky. Hopefully some Top 25 voters will give us a sniff. We have to win one more big game out of UMass, Arizona and Memphis. Stockpiling wins against the Arkansas-Pine Bluffs and Grambling St's of the world won't get it done on their own. We also have to be mentally tough and not forget to show up for a game and lose to a Rice or a Marshall.
Chuck left around 15:00 in the second half. I THINK he was still wearing his blue hat but cannot be sure. Luther burned off about 8:00 to go. TMAC stayed till the end, I guess because he was sitting beside Clyde and Bill. Did not look like he was having fun. Chuck was getting destroyed by Luther the whole first half. Then when the blowout continued in the second half chuck moved a few rows back, and sneaked out.
Did you get to go to the game? Oh and whoever said something about Tmac and the Yankee's hat.. he had a UK one on when they showed him in the first half lol then when we were down.. he switched.
Yeah I was there. I always saw him with a black Yankees hat. He may have had a UK hat on for a second but I was watching over there most of the non-playing time. Was it an all blue hat like Chuck's? If so he must had it on for only a second.
No I think it was like the white one with blue letters that Bogans had on, so they may have just caught it on him for a moment. It may have even been Keith's hat. It was the first time they showed him on tv.. so the score was like 10-10... very early in the game. I will have to check on the DVR. I bet it was exciting there during the game and after it was over. The crowd was very good. Though I though there was going to be a rush on the court when Joe fouled that kid so hard on the breakaway. I can't be too hard on UK. I was in college when we won two championships, so I lived the highest of the high life.. it no surprise that there would come a time when I have to live through the lows of UK basketball. I do have to say, if we don't make the tournament, it will be the first time since we were on probation in the late 80's (incidentally the last time we lost four games in a row) and Billy better get good security on his home. Lexington will be ready to tar and feather him... our fans are passionately nuts. (or like Dickie V likes to say.. 5% of our fans are nuts)
GO COOGS. Crowd was awesome, the most people since 1988 I think. I came about 30 minutes early, but it was still PACKED. Your UH Cougars are 10-1 now.
Do you have anyway to transfer that to avi? I thought it was gonna be replayed by ESPN but they didn;t replay it. If you have anyway to get it on a computer I would seriously be in your debt. How did the crowd sound on TV? Did it sound mostly like Cougs? During the last part a pretty loud chant of "Gillispie sucks" came out. I saw a bit of maroon there also. There was alot of blue there but they really were not very loud. Even during free throws and exciting plays, until the end when they made that semi run.
I'll give my 2 cents to the forum here. Great game, great atmosphere. The defensive rotation by UH was spectacular. Very few fast break pts for UK. If UK would not have shown a semblance of pride down by 24 to rally to 13, this would've really been a blowout! Thought the best situation of the night was when Gillespie got T'd up and the crowd chanted "Gillespie Sucks ..." On National TV. Swweeet!!!
The crowd sounded GREAT on TV. By far, one of the loudest I've heard all season on TV. The way Hofheinz Pavilion is designed, it's always going to be loud with a crowd like that. Nothing but Cougar fans that you could hear on TV. As for the Gillispie sucks chant, yeahhh.... That was loud and clear on TV!
It sounded louder than Rockets games. But then again, fans were actually in the seats and they had something to cheer for.
