DON'T LOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST EPISODE [/spolier]

I think the last episode lived up to all of the hype. Especially considering this has really been coming since Lem bought the farm. The twists and turns were almost perfect and a series like this could have only been done on FX, HBO or Showtime.

I thought Olivia turned out to be one of the biggest surprises of the season. She's in waist-deep in all of the Pezuela BS and desperately needs Vic to bail her out and then she screws Vic over. Too bad he hadn't kept his leverage.

Ronnie got screwed over like a 2 dollar ho, but considering Vic's M.O. I guess we should have seen it coming.

Vic's purgatory almost seems like it's perfect justice (especially since he can't be a bigshot) expect that you get the feeling that whether it's 3, 5, 10 or even more years in time he will somehow get what he wants--- and who he wants.

I never expected Shane to do what he did, but in the end I guess it fits....

Wyms and Dutch redeemed themselves and both realized that they still need each other to be effective cops. Probably the best outcome for both of them.

I would love to see a movie set 5-10 years down the road and have the plot be that Vic has found who "he is missing" and Ronnie gets hired and busted out of prison to 'end it once and for all'.

pretty f'in amazing. god am i sick to my stomach that this show is over. sure was a great finale though.

i think it's safe to say that spoiler tags are no longer necessary, and i don't see why somebody would be clicking on this thread before watching the finale, but just in case, don't read any further.

so, after one long, hard moment of reflection, vic sucks it up and puts it all behind him and is able to somehow move on with a clear conscience, as only he could. a sick man indeed. he's alive, free, and kicking, and that's really all that he has ever cared about.

wasn't a huge fan of forcing Andre 3000 back into the show just to give the audience some last-minute moral dilemmas of law enforcement to chew on, but that's just a minor blip for me.

safe to say, the 3 most memorable scenes looking back on the series will be:
    1) Lem's Death
    2) The shot of shane's dead wife and kid(s)
    3) The final scene of Vic reflecting, processing, then moving on with his life.

Best show in tv history. Bravo.

yeah, Lem's death was easily one of the most memorable tv moments ever, imo. it was brilliant and was the main reason why this show was so interesting in the remaining seasons.

i wasn't really satisfied with the ending... ohh man, i wanted vic to go down.

Vic's purgatory? I think Vic grabbed his gun to leave. He could easily get a job for the Mexican Fedarlist? right? or French Foreign Legion...or some other mercenary group...like maybe he will actually become a mercenary for some unnamed bad US company and have to face Jack Bauer in the 11th hour of a final showdown.

this isn't the end of Vic anymore than Jack. The only question is who will win.

eh, i dont think so. why would he have left the pictures of his children behind? what's the point of him going on the lam at this point? he does his 3 years, then goes on to do whatever he wants. why risk anything?

he grabbed his gun for the sole purpose of making the viewer wonder if he was gonna blow his brains out or not. she said he had to leave it in the lockbox or take it out of the building.

The scene with 2-man in the box about to give up Shane
was INTENSE . . shane squirming and trying to spin
and then 'excusing himself' right before 2-man gives it up

    The movie will be great!
I can see it now . . .Vic has done his 3 Yrs and is a PI
The ICE squad needs him to set something up
through is old CIs . . .he tells them kiss his *Ss
    then
says .. GET MY BOY OUT OF PRISON

He and Ronnie going through the hate to get back on the job

    Rocket River
Claudette maybe be 'dead' by then
    but
Dutch and Julian trying to catch Vic and them slipping
and of course. . . bring back Forrest Whittaker!!
    [favorite actor!]

That all sound great, but please do not mislead other The Shield fans. There are no current plans in the works for a movie (that I have been able to confirm).

Its so sad to see this show end but it was one of the best out there. I have all the Seasons (except for this one) on DVD if I ever miss it.

The thought of the movie is nice, but I don't know if I see it happening. They did leave open the possibility though. A prequel movie wouldn't be a terrible idea either.

Surprised they left so many open ends. I really expected a Shakespearian level tragedy with everyone going down or seriously scarred from the follow out. Very surprised Dutch didn't get killed by the kid, that Claudette didn't die from her condition and the stress, that Aceveda came out unscathed. A small part of me wonders if he did arrange the hit on Andre 3000.

5 most memorable scenes, in my opinion:
    1. Aceveda having to suck off the gang bangers with a gun to his head.
    2. Lem torching the money
    3. Shane killing Lem
    4. Dutch killing the stray cat behind his house
    5. Kavanaugh losing it

I went out with a friend last night and DVR'd the show... I got back around 11pm and was pretty tipsy - and knowing I wanted to watch the finale with a clear and focused mind - I decided to sleep and watch it after work today....

but all night I kept dreaming about different ending scenarios and waking up... at 1am, at 2:30am, at 4am...

Finally at 630am I said "**** it" - got a huge glass of water to rehydrate myself and watched the full show...

    W.O.W.

Shane's demise, Ronnie's realization of getting screwed, and Vic accepting his new life all had be on the edge of my seat...

So the immunity comes for the rest of his life - even though he only has a contract for 3 years with ICE? What's in life for Vic after the contract runs? I doubt there is anyway they want him back on their payroll. And now he's confessed his sins - so who is going to trust him after the three years is up? Where does he work?

And really - I still can't believe what he did to Ronnie. I thought the Strike Team was like a family to him - as much as Connie and the kids. That scene when he's confronting Vic for screwing him over - that really got to me. Well acted.

Awesome show. Really too bad that the series is ending, but they gave it a proper send off. Hopefully FX can continue it's streak of consistently good shows and replace this with another classic series.

A great ending to one of the best shows i've ever watched. It was intense yet fit with the entire series run. Michael Chiklis and Walton Goggins both deserve awards for their performances these last few weeks. Part of me wishes there would of been a final showdown between the two. The final phone call between the two was classic though. I couldn't help but laugh when Vic told Shane "I'll send you a postcard from Space Mountain".

The Shane suicide was disturbing despite knowing it was going to happen. We've watched this show for seven seasons. At the end of season 2 when the 4 strike team guys are standing next to a pile of money, that was going to be as good as it got. You can pinpoint the exact moment they lost control. Once Mara found Shane's cash and loaned it to her mother they were never able to recover. Every solution led to a more compilcated problem.

With that said the part that stands out the most to me is Ronnie's arrest. I held out hope Vic would warn him as one last favor after realizing Corrine had betrayed him while Ronnie remained loyal to the end. Ronnie's emotional outburst was the most intense part for me.

    Dutch - "Your Under Arrest"
    Ronnie - "For what?"
Dutch - "For all the **** you've done the last three years"

I'm going to miss this show.

Shawn Ryan did a post finale interview that is very interesting. He is still open to the idea of a movie.

Vic warning Ronnie - if he had the slightest clue, he would have. He had no idea at all that Dutch and Claudette knew about (let alone listened in on) his immunity deal. If he had, he would have helped Ronnie run.

Vic knew he had a immunity deal for himself only. He knew that sooner or later, they were going to arrest Ronnie and he would find out what Vic did. Vic's outcome matches perfect with his whole character. Always finds a way out, no matter what he has to do. The last scene showed Vic being Vic, he just kept moving along.

If was in a lockbox, and he was taking it out of the building as he was leaving.

    I whole heartedly agree.

Man, that was perhaps the most intense, jaw dropping experience I've ever experienced watching TV.

The way it ended was almost too perfect. Vic, of course, getting himself out of the hole no matter what it took. It was sad for me to see he basically left out Ronnie to dry. She should have told him to run, he know they were going to get him.

Man, that Ronnie scene alone gave me goosebumps. Intense, intense, intense. Fudge! I'm going home and watching it again!

one thing i don't get was why ronnie and vic were so shocked/sad at the end when they found out what shane did... i mean, they were the ones who wanted to kill him and his family in the first place... thought they'd be happy or at least feel neutral about it.

...and I think a possible spinoff just with Dutch might be in the works.

i know....i'm just saying he just took it home with him; he wasn't snatching it to go on the lam and/or conduct some vigilante justice.

I think it had as much to do with his wife and the kid being killed by Shane and the fact that Shane blew his own head off - which they likely did not expect at all - so it just really shook them... plus the fact that Ronnie thought that all of his past misdeeds were finally at rest and he was safe - he was emotional about that as well...
