If its on there own personal time, then so be it... That being said, I feel the same way about homosexuality...What you do on your own time is your business...
I was initially under the impression they were using their SFPD uniforms, badges, etc. I could see why the PD would care about that. But, that's not the case, is it? If they aren't misusing government trademarks, images, equipment, funds, or time, why should anyone care?
OMG, NEWS FLASH!!! THE POLICE ARE HAVING SEX!!! THEY JUST DO IT DIFFERENT THAN YOU!!! WATCH OUT, THEY CANT BE GOOD POLICE OFFICERS BECAUSE THEY HAVE KINKY SEX!!! That can be said for most of the population. If you arent having kinky sex, you are wishing you would and you would if you had the opportunity. They did and they got caught. Lets string them up. Sam, thats not particularly aimed at you so dont take offense. I just think its funny that people have a cow becuase they are cops.
For one, they weren't "caught having kinky sex". They chose to make a porno video and then release that to the public for profit. I don't know about what you do for a living, but I'm not naive enough to believe I could do that and not suffer repurcussions in my employment. Second, it doesn't matter what I think or you think is "OK" - they work for the City of San Francisco, and even in a city as liberal as that I assume that there are many voters who look unfavorably on their police officers appearing in p*rn. If the police chief think that her job security would be better if she released Officer Goodbody, then she's got that right (pending issues with the police union/contract).
Recording yourself having sex is kinky. Letting other people see that tape is kinky. Selling that tape for profit is kinky. Porno is kinky. Its taboo. I am an IT consultant. If something that I do (for profit) is not in direct competition with who work for, there is nothing they can do. The releases that I sign when I begin work do not say anything about being a p*rn star. Its legal to have sex on tape and profit from it. I'm not saying its a classy thing to do but it isnt illegal.
Of course whatever two consenting adults do with their own bodies in their own free time should be restricted and, if considered incorrect, penalized. What do they think this is, a free society?
If they want to play "Hide the night stick" on camera, let them. Just as long as it is not an tax payer bought night stick.
BUMMER!!! I wait all day long to look at the video and then I get home and it is the news report. What a letdown. LOL
Now that the thread has run its course, I can risk getting it move to D&D. Do you think punitive action would have been taken if it was homosexual p*rnography? I'm guessing that they'd have been worried about an appearance of discrimination if they were to punish two men.
Juan, I can positively assure you there won't be homosexual pornographic moives from these two.... they are going to tie the knots. Gives the true meaning of partner-in-business.
