You should use it against Sun belt teams too. Because SBC sounds a lot like SEC and therefore they might make a mistake and be unwittingly uplifted.
Feel free to start a "BIG TWELVE" or "CUSA!" poll and see how much Big 12 or CUSA conference pride you can elicit.....
I think after four straight championships SEC fans have the right to chant whatever the heck they want.
I think aside from rivals, most fans want teams in their conference to win their bowl games. Helps with future rankings and all that stuff. Due to the Big 10's recent lackluster bowl showings they are thought of currently as a down conference. So if push came to shove, a Big 10 team does not quite get the benefit of the doubt.
at least half of those are questionable. and two of of those questions belong to THE Texas Longhorns. just sayin........
Yeah i remeber when the world anti-doping agency included gyno checks in it's screening methods. foolproof.
Wait...are SEC fans all T-Shirt fans? Yup. I mean, why the hell would you cheer for a conference? What allegiance do you have? Does this mean I should go for the Jazz if the Rockets don't make it?
The year the Spurs won the title in 1999, I ran down the middle of Broadway in Times Square chanting "MIDWEST DIVISION! MIDWEST DIVISION!" ....then I was arrested.
That is one thing I always admire about Eagles Fans, they always turn right around and cheer for the Cowboys when they lose to them in the playoffs.
this poll is pretty simple: if you are a fan of the SEC, you're probably going to vote not lame. if you're not a fan of the SEC, you're probably going to vote lame. imagine that. Honestly, I do it because I know how much it pisses fans of other teams off. It's kind of funny knowing a simple chant can annoy someone enough to come on the internet and post a poll.
Stuff like subjective polls, recruiting and the national media discussing which conference is best makes supporting a conference in bowl games far different than a pro division in the playoffs.
This is coming from the same board where so many people were arguing how the Big 12 is the best and the SEC is overrated. Yup, I don't get it either.
As an SEC fan, I support the chant. Edit: I felt the need to add more... I personally root against other SEC teams when UK plays them, but when it's us against the other conferences I am completely in the SEC team's corner. Where do you think the "Big Ten/ACC" challenge idea stems from. I hate Florida when they come to Rupp but when they take down a Big Ten or a Pac 10 team it means our wins against them mean more. College sports is unique in this way.
Change this poll to the Big 12, the NBA Southwest divison, AFC South division, NL Central, CUSA, whatever you want... and I'd still vote lame. Unless there's some inherent historical brotherhood bonds between all the SEC teams, this makes no sense.
