I'm good with that. Although he's the first to pull off what we just did for a second time. But yes that's my first choice.
What if Dusty plays Diaz would you want him back? Personnel needs to be addressed also . Pena might be trade bait and let Duby play SS. Maldy and Brantley bye bye
Did the Astros reach out to Bochy at all before going to Dusty or was Bochy not interested at the time for whatever reason. I can't take another Dusty season
Espada if hiring within. Who would be available from the outside? Craig Counsell? But is he NY Mets bound? Anyone else?
I think it will be Espada. I actually think it would have been Espada this year but he wanted to coach Venezuela in the WBC and it gave the Astros a way to get him experience managing while saving face with Dusty.
From the Athletic : HOUSTON – Dusty Baker has expressed to multiple people inside and outside of the Houston Astros organization that 2023 will be his final season as manager, sources briefed on the matter told The Athletic over the past week.
Looks like he's retiring. Apparently he's been telling people 2023 would be last season. Just didn't want it out to be a distraction (farewell tour)
I’m assuming it will be Espada. I suppose I wouldn’t be shocked if they went another direction, but Espada has to be the favorite I would think.
