QUESTION: Why can TJONES not be like Diaw in the D'Antoni System?

He has handles. He has an outside shot.
I think TJones needs ALOT of coaching

    For 5 mill a year. . . I would keep TJones
    Dude is 24 yrs old
If he leaves and flourish somewhere else. . .everyone will b**** about Morey not paying players

Plus he has already proven that he can contribute as a starter on a contending team. Can't say the same for Dmo.

For the same reason that PBev can't be Steve Nash, Ariza can't be Shawn Marion, and Brewer can't be Raja Bell.

Well the main reason is a complete and total lack of NBA talent. He doesn't do anything at all well on the court. Other than that, no reason.

He is not even close to Diaw's BBall IQ, Jones can have good games but he is closer to JR Rider, than Boris Diaw on the BBall IQ front.

The Mark of a good coach is you take lemons and make them into lemonade. For all we blasted him, TJones at current market value may well be a bargain if D'Antoni can coach him back up to where he was in early 2014. I remain unconvinced that health (aside from psychiatric) played a huge role in his downfall last year.

TJones at 3-5M is someone you roll the dice on in this new NBA market.

LOL, no. He might be a value for the Shanghai Sharks but he was literally the worst PF in the NBA last season. He might get one more short term contract from some NBA team before heading overseas, but it's pretty much over. He's not worth a roster spot let alone 3-5 mil.

TJones is mentally fried and has zero confidence. Not worth it.

Terrence Jones to me is a player that mentally isn't very strong. He would be a great player to have if we had an all star point guard that would help eliminate all of the thinking for him, Set him up for good plays/shots, ect. Defensively he was destroyed by better power forwards in the playoffs.

Honestly, why waste cap space on him. We should just wish him the best of luck.

Terrence Jones should go to the Sixera or something. I use to think he'd be a good fit with the bucks but not no mo.

I wish the best for him and for his career. He doesn't fit here and needs someone to mentor him. For some reason I see him playing for the Kings or Washington

He just is what he is. A low end starter or bench player. Aldridge exposed him for what he is and isn't. A place in the league, but not a difference maker for a playoff team.

He was snazy on the French National team and was running the offense as the focal point way before he was in the NBA.

Yeah Boris Diaw is a pass-first PG in a forward body. Highly unlikely that Jones will develop those instincts at this point of his career.

BTW of all the PFs Morey has drafted in the past five years, the only one that has become a decent and consistent contributor to a team is Patrick Patterson. If he can overcome health questions, DMo has the potential to be the best of the bunch. But for now, PPat is the only guy, and I'd say he's good but not great.
