what kind of rathole, 2-bit town is this, anyway? what about Houston? I'll be there saturday and sunday nights.
this blows! so is Christmas Day when the movie is supposed to come out everywhere else? dallas sucks. I want to move to austin.
I guess they figure that all those artsy, smelly hippie Austin types would be more willing to see a movie like this than the Cocaine and Boob Job crowd in Dallas.
this is a wes anderson film, right?? my wife and i saw the preview this morning and she said, "wow, that looks a lot like rushmore." to whomever asked about the name of the private school where rushmore was filmed...it's st. john's... trivia: can anybody tell me where he is when he unleashes the bees?? where he is exactly when he sticks his gum on the wall before doing so?? rushmore is sooo great....but it's even greater as a houstonian! where is this new movie filmed??
I can't think of the name of it now, but it's the hotel there at the circle where Main and Montrose intersect.
Hey ya'll, I saw the premiere in Dallas this past Monday. It showed at the Angelika. They gave away tickets through the Observer. It's not showing in its regular run until the 28th. Well worth the wait though. As was mentioned previously, the tennis match scene was great. It also took a few serious turns, but still there wasn't a character or scene that didn't elicit at least one laugh. Ironically the one comedian in the group, Stiller, was the most serious (if not most seriously troubled) of the characters. Also one a totally different note I saw the premiere of The Shipping News at the Angelika as well. Great flick. Kevin Spacey can do no wrong.
Yeah Wink, Spacey is starring in and has an early Oscar buzz going for The Shipping News. Totally unrelated to the rest of the post.
