The team seems to be getting better but at the current rate of improvement it might slide into a playoff spot and get destroyed in the first round.
yes a team with this level of talent playing "bad" competition can go on a long winning streak. No matter what kind of competition you're facing whether it be the bucks or the spurs you should come out with the same intensity every night.......it is still possible to notice things that are "wrong" with the team even if we are winning basketball games. At times we still have trouble getting Yao the ball for whatever reasons, bonzi still shows up when he wants to, tmac at times still appears to be on coast mode, the defense still looks bad at time, etc.
haha no matter what kind of talent you have in the NBA, you cant go 13-2 without effort, intensity and consistency! ah Yao not getting enough touches.. YOFs revealed! lol no matter what, you guys will ONLY be truly happy if Yao scores a lot of points, screw our win loss record. We are now 8-1 with TMac and when Yao scored a lot without TMac we are 8-5, yet 8-5 (yes weak teams here as well) is playing with more effort?? haha you are funny!
yes you can. One thing I liked about JVG was that he was critical of the team even when we were winning.............only someone who doesn't watch basketball would think that a win streak = you're playing fantastic basketball.
where in any of my post did I "ignore" the problems this team had when tmac was out...............you can go check my post record of telling people not to get too excited, because of almost exactly the same reasons............me thinks you're pulling something out of your ass.
And look at the teams they have beaten/almost beaten recently. GS, PHX, BOS, HOU. Not to mention they had won 6 of 8 before last night. Just like the Rockets are improving and starting to gel, so are the T-Wolves. They aren't the pushovers they were early in the season.
I don't think people realise how much of a roll Minnesota has been on. Jefferson has been an absolute beast the last couple of weeks. Im not at all surprised he destroyed us. It just shows how close the West is. But I don't like how Sebastian Telfair kills us. We should be letting him settle for jumpers. Somehow he always penetrated instead.
Actually, he was only pointing out that our guards (particularly Luther) are still having problems with their entry passes into Yao. He's not saying that Yao needs to get the ball MORE, only that they need to work on the entry passes. At least that's what I took out of it. I think people are overly-sensitive to this whole YOF/YOH thing going on. I've said it before, and I'll say it again.....no other board has this problem. If you go to the Suns, Mavs, or Spurs boards, you don't see SOFs, or DOFs, or TOFs.....just fans of the team. Even if people are fans of one particular guy, they still root for the TEAM. For some reason though, people have chosen to forego the success of the team in favor of Yao's individual success, when ultimately, both are one in the same.
Yep. That's actually something I pointed out to my friends last night when we were watching the game. It's a trend that I don't like. Our guard defense has been BAD this year.....I understand that for the most part, every team in the West has the advantage over us at the PG position, but that's why we need to emphasize team defense.
our defense was subpar last night. telfair got into the paint AT WILL and he was too quick for rafer. we tried to put brooks on there but he was ineffective on offfense. once again, i would like to see the big, quick lineup more where we can switch ANYTHING and EVERYTHING. tmac, battier, bonzi, landry, scola/hayes (moreso hayes). i mean with that lineup, u basically can switch on EVERY player on the perimeter.
To answer your question as simple as i can. Before we would play teams and suck in the fourth quarter and eventually start losing and then lose. Now we play teams...let them come back in the fourth quarter but pull out a win. losing---> winning Yes we are better because we are getting more contribution
That trade would decapitate the Suns. They lose a guy who finishes on the fast break and shoot threes for a guy who is going to clog up the lanes and ruin amare and nash's game. Plus he can't run and if they change their style to halfcourt...Leandro Barbosa and Grant Hill lose their advantages of working well in a running system. They will drop in the standings from 1 to maybe 3-5 if this trade goes through.
My guess is that Miami is desperate to dump Shaq and his massive salary and rebuild around Wade. They essentially made a deal with the devil a while back: get Shaq for one year, win the championship and then suck for years.
No, they are getting worse, struglling against weak teams and won games by pure luck plus the help from the opposing team. If no change is being made, first round exit is the best Rox can anticipate.
