I just wanted to reiterate what I think is a very good point.

Mo is a good 6th man. His defense makes my sick, but I still like him on this team.

I was wondering if anyone else ever noticed this about him. I don't like him too much, but at least he can do a couple of things right.

*Comparing him to some of the other contracts we've seen lately his contract doesn't look too bad even though I still believe he is overpaid (see Adonal Foyle).
*Like someone else mentioned if we were to trade him then it would probably either be another 1 demensional defenseive player (see Cato), just taller. If that didn't happen then it would probably be a Moochie/Spoon trade all over again which wouldn't be too bad if the contract expired by 2006.
*Even though he is our only real scorer off the bench I would think we could get someone for him that would at least be decent at both ends of the floor (Alan Henderson?).

Mo is a good player, he's not worth what he makes, but without him coming off the bench who/what would we have? I think a perfect phrase fits here, "You don't know what you've got until it's gone." I'd love to see him gone as long as we get something decent in return, but he should in no way simply be discarded for next to nothing.

Even if Yao and Mcgrady are off the floor at the same time, you still have a 17ppg player (who happens to play the same position as Taylor) in Juwan Howard to pick up the slack.

Mo was our whole bench last year. He was our reliable goto guy when Yao wasnt in the game and now with all of these huge contracts going around his doesnt look as bad

The contracts going around are bad, but at least most of them are for players expected to start for their teams and play significant minutes. The Rockets are going to pay Taylor 9 mil a year for playing about 18-20 minutes a game. Not only is it a waste of his talent to have him rot on the bench, it’s a waste of 9 million bucks.

Taylor is a bargain when you compare him to Brian Cardinal, Adonal Foyle and Hedo Turkoglu.

I agree I like Taylor. Who else do we have that can come off the bench and score like he can? When he gets hot he can go crazy and give other teams 2nd team alot of trouble. We should keep him and find another way to get a back up center. Nobody else has a good back up center so I dont know why everybody is going crazy!!!
