I'm hooked up with a Dallas fan.

But, she does support the Rockets because of how much it takes out of me when they lose.

I think what would help is if Clutchfans.net set up a dating service too lol. Like a Match.com but for Rockets fans/ fanatics only. This way I think it would alleviate the problem of whether or not the spouse will watch the game with you or not. Heck especially knowing she is a member of clutchfans.net? Makes it all the more easier to get along with her. Imagine going home to your girlfriend and being able to talk about what someone posted on the board here. Debating it over dinner instead of issues like shopping and things we just are not interested in. I know there are plenty of hot girls that are just obsessed with the Rockets as we are!

My baby likes the Rockets. She used to live in Houston 6 years ago, and since I'm such a huge fan, has also gotten accostumed to liking the Rockets. We're planning to move in together shortly and I'm pretty positive that she'll be fairly supportive of me watching a nice amount of Rocket games and maybe even watching some with me. My baby rocks! :)

since i cannot watch rockets games live(and if i get the chance they are in the middle of the night), my girlfriend doesn't mind if i watch them.
She actually supports me if i want to watch the rockets. She also tries to remember the player names(the ones i teach her). she also doesn't mind me comming to this site that much.

She doesn't like soccer, but i can even watch those games:D. i also watch some shows that i really hate and she likes. so when i want to watch soccer she does the same for me.

    Hey Deckard,
Ya'll better come watch some games over here this year. Two houses across the street have Rockets fans also (my wife's only concern is that she won't get to watch much of the game if the other spouses don't :) )

I think my situation is opposite from everyone else's. I love the Rockets but I pretty much watch every other major sport too like baseball and (UT) football. He primarily likes baseball and doesn't like my affection for basketball games. Before we dated, he's never been to a Rockets game before. We dated all throughout last season and I took him to ~10 games. He'll watch them, he read the paper abt the games, kept up with injuries, etc (I appreciate the effort) but he made the EXACT same statement your girl made!! He wanted us to lose so it'd be all over. I wasn't happy. At all.

I split the T-mac package with my dad this year so hopefully that helps. The fewer games he goes to with me, he's not as inundated with the Rockets and maybe he won't lose patience so quickly. I already didn't go to the D&B party, I don't mention to him these ccf downtown happy hours, etc b/c I know he wouldn't want to go.

My wife is exactly the same, shes not really into basketball, but she'll watch the games with me or go to games with me. As long as I keep her entertained with Nachos, cotton candy and the rest of that junk, shes all good.

Not living in Houston I've met very few Rockets fans and no women Rockets fans. The only woman I've met here who knew anything about the Rockets players was a WNBA player who was friendly but not very interested in dating. On top of that most of the women I date seem to be more hippy or alternative women who can't stand organized sports.

I once explained to a former GF that pro-sports was our cultural rituals so the Superbowl in American culture was really like things like Chinese New Year. That didn't go over very well.

My obsession was more of an issue until they won their first finals. She couldn't help herself after that, and she was a non-sports fan. Her whole family is that way. She tolerates it more now than in the past.

She knew I was sports addicted when she married me so she has nothing to complain about.

My wife is as fair weather as they come. Loves them when they are winning and can't watch when they are losing. She just thinks there are too many games in a season.

I'm doing my best to combat this situation by raising both of my kids to be die hard rockets fans. :D

As far as the BBS goes I catch my wife lurking if I leave a computer in the house logged in.

I don't have a significant other, but she should be. dumb b****. Atleast she likes sports like basketball and football, and baseball. For some dumbass reason, she has taken a liken to soccer. dumb douche bag guy, ****, i'm a better athlete than this guy.Yeah, I plan on taking her to some Rockets game this year. I'm going to try to take her to game Four of the NLDS.

A girl that likes sports is pretty damn cool, but I don't think it's the end all, be all for a girl. I think it's just a little something extra that is nice.

    Thank God DVR was invented.

My wife really isn't a sports fanatic. I watch the games after everyone goes to bed. Of course, I fall behind on my sleep. Sometimes we all need to make sacrifices.

My girl is from NY so she loves baseball and the Yankees and I HATE boring ball with a passion but I tolerate it for her. She never really payed attention to basketball until she moved here and instantly became a Rockets fan because I was one and she loved going to the games (she still misses stevie believe it or not...i guess she gets it from me ;) Anyways, you just gotta make the compromise. You can't stop doing the things you love to do (unless they are detrimental to your relationship which the Rox arent!). Try to make it something the both of you can enjoy...take her to a game and get her familiar with the players and then she'll be hooked!

Last season my fiance (she gets mad when i refer to her as my girlfriend since I asked her to marry me) and I watched every game. Before she didn't care for Bball very much ,but after watching the entire season with me. And being explained a couple of the rules she is now an addict just like me. it is nice to not here complaininng about the game being on and I love when she asks are the Rockets playing tonight?or who are the Rockets playing? We have made it one of our hobbies together and that is probably the best part. i can scream at the tv and she just helps me calm down and reasures me that the Rockets will pull it off. I can't wait untill the season starts. not just because I love the Rockets or thier chances this year ,but b/c there isn't anything on tv during the week.

P.S. It also helped that she had a crush on Bobby Sura ,but only one of those movie star crushes we are allowed to have.
