Stop overrating this team, two chokers in T-mac and Yao and a nutcase in Artest. I love the Rockets but our future ain't bright, b****z and hoez.

You have no idea what you're speaking on. That dude has talked more trash to people in here in one day than I have since I joined. Mind your own business, kid.

Maybe. Or maybe you haven't read some of the comments that guy has made to people in here and you have no idea what you're talking about.

    No, definitely.

Okay Okay, the Rockets won't win 60 games next year. I am sorry. Now can we let this go. I am not going to your middle school to fight you. Relax...

And I don't wanna come to your retirement home and knock you off your wheelchair.

Dude, enough with this. I'll acknowledge I misinterpreted your first comment. I didn't realize it was a joke and I got irrational. It's over. I'll let you take the last jab.

Or maybe I've figured out how to use the ignore button, or maybe I know how ridiculous "manning up" is on the internet. Or maybe I know how silly it is to say stuff like "I bet I know more about basketball then you."

If you post things that are insightful and true other posters will respond and share ideas and talk basketball. Everything else is rubbish to be ignored.

Anyway, I put the Rockets at 61 wins +/-1 and first in the west. Some teams have gotten weaker, Dallas, Golden St., Denver, while teams like San Antonio and Phoenix seem a little too old to put up huge regular season win totals. I could see Portland compete for something as high as the 4th seed and New Orleans will be better.

It's very difficult to assume a 60-win season even with an average group of teams in conference. Considering that the West will still have 9-10 teams all capable of making the playoffs, I'd be more comfortable predicting 60-62 wins for the Rockets than I would 65+ wins. The latter certainly could still happen barring injuries but it's a lot to assume. 65+ wins is certainly more of a rarity in the NBA.

I agree with what you are saying and maybe I am a little foolish to suggest that we could even win as many as 70 games when only a handful of teams have ever done that. But I keep looking at that 22 game win streak and how only 1 other team has done better. And remember Yao was either out or playing injured all of that streak. Hell we were a walking wounded team most of the year. And especially in the end and we still managed to 42-14 after the new year. That's a 75% win clip and the very best record in the league after the new year. And with a healthy team I could see that easily improving to 80. Then add Barry Dorsey and Artest plus all the rookies will be better and Imo 65+ wins is very doable.

We've gotten better every year for the past several years, I don't see why this year would be any different. Even 60 is a lot, but after reading some of these posts I'm convinced it's possible. This is just idle speculation, though; this three months will be agony...

I don't care how many games the Rockets win, all I want is a high seed and then to beat everyone silly in the playoffs. If everyone stays healthy, it will happen.

This thread should be cleaned and members put on probation. This is ridiculous!

Anyways, the Rockets will win somewhere between 55 and 60 games.

I asked you to tell me why...speak up!

We won 55 with TMac out for 1/5th of the season and Yao out for a 1/3rd, with other injuries. You have us improving one game?

You may have a point - Rafer playing like an all-star was a primary driver behind the 22 game winning streak.

Why a 0-5 game increase in a weaker conference with a stronger team who know Adelman's system better?

In my mind, the only variable is Yao coming out of the Olympics hurt. But it's more likely that they won't even make it out of the first round, so I'm hopeful.

The 06-07 season, Boston was 24 wins and 58 loses. After a major team shake up and adding two new stars and additional players at the trade deadline, they ended the year with 66 wins, 16 loses and the NBA Championship!

So why will or should the Rockets do better? :

    1) The Rockets core has been together longer.
    2) The Rockets won 55 games last season with a 22 game streak.
    3) The Rockets clearly suffered major injuries last year to multiple positions.
    4) The Rockets bench appears clearly stronger than Bostons.
    5) The Rockets get the whole of camp and preseason to gel, entire team.
    6) I just think that Yao, Tmac and Artest are better than Boston's Big 3.

Boston's big three hadn't really won anything prior to last year either when they were on separate teams. So the fact that we haven't made it out of the first round is no indicator of our success potential this year.

Therefore I voted that the Rockets will win 65+ games this year because we are not only better offensively, but better defensively as well our bench. The only thing that could stop us from winning that many games is our own health, not the other so called western conference powers. At worst, we will split with the other top 3 teams, and that is only about 6 loses; four teams at about 7 or 8 losses, which I doubt.

The key is not just our Big 3, but we will have probably the best bench in the league assuming we sign the rest of our players that are still out.

Geez...Can't we all just get along :D

Last time I checked we were all rooting for the Rockets. Who cares if we win 55 or 70+ just win baby! Seriously, I can't remember how many games the Lakers "Dream Team" with Kobe, Shaq, Malone & Payton won since they didn't eentually win it all.

It's all about the rings! Although it's an amazing feat, no one will give a crap that we won 22 in a row next year - let alone 10 years from now, but I still hold dearly the 2 Championships we won in '94 & '95. By the way we won the '95 championship as a 6th seed (with a 47-35 regular season record).

Do I hope we win 73 games this year - hell yeah, but I'd much wather win ~47 and take the Larry O'Brien trophy back to Houston - where it belongs.
