    You're a kind soul, Rockets 2K, thanks. I got it saved to my desktop now. :D

    ... (... say, wasn't there a thread going on here somewhere?)

    Oh yeah, I suspect the Rox'll make the playoffs this year, but I'm not that excited about it yet. It looks like they'll probably make it somewhat by default, sort of backing in... It's kind of a glass-half-full year for me with them. 2 steps forward, 2 steps back, cha cha cha. Another "growing" year. Patience, Iron-Man-like endurance, a morbid sense of humor -- these are the hallmarks of a longtime Rockets fan. They're a shameless tease. If they were my girlfriend, I'd have to break up with them, but they're not, so I can deal. Some nights they come out looking good, trying to impress me. Other nights they treat me like dirt... Where's the love? Haven't I been good to them? It's alright though, it may turn out that they want it as bad as I do, and it's all just been a big misunderstanding... [cue Isaac Hayes]...

    y'all know what I'm talking about, right?

    I predicted this in a poll thread in the NBA Dish forum at the start of the season... Thread titled "Memphis: Sleeper in the West?"

    so if your not a rockets fan...then why talk about them. i love this website....but it has become a stupid faction. This should become the 'I hate the Rockets' BBS. This is the best rockets team I have seen in a while. I am I really that off.

    I totally agree. I don't know whether they're crummy fans or if it's their personality to be crummy.

    Ok, so silentfan is predicting 41 wins for the Rockets, and more than that for the Jazz, who will put us out of the playoffs.

    Right now, the Jazz have 31 wins, meaning they need to win 11 more to overtake us for 8th seed. They have 21 games remaining, needing to go 11-10. Now, let's take a look at their schedule:

    - 11 games away from home
    - 5 game road trip in mid-march
    - Do not play consecutive games at home, just once (LAL, GS)
    - 8 of the 11 away games are against the West
    - Play the Lakers twice, Minny, Houston, Memphis, Dallas

    Let me count 11 losses for you:

    @Portland
    Lakers
    @Denver
    Denver
    @Lakers
    San Antonio
    @Clippers
    Memphis
    @Dallas
    Houston
    @Minnesota

    I assumed that they only lose once on a 5 game roadtrip. That roadtrip includes @Cleveland, and I didn't count that as a loss despite Cleveland turning it on recently. There's also a home Denver game, a home Indiana game coming up, 2 backtobacks and I didn't consider any of the 4 games as losses, and a home New Orleans game as well.

    Ofcourse, this is assuming silentfan's prediction comes true and we win only 7 of the final 23 games. Throw in 2 wins, and it looks close to impossible for Utah to catch us.

    Come on silentfan. Just give it up. If you really believe in what you're saying, take the bets. Chances of us missing the playoffs is slim to none. Put that "slim" on an atkins diet, and you'd be closer to our actual chances.

    Why can't you just accept that we're going to make the playoffs?

    I'm not happy with our standing right now, I'd like to see them lock up 6th seed, and the schedule is horriffic, but I'm you don't see me exaggerating.

    You know we'll make it. If you multiply our winning percentage by the remaining games, we should go 13-10. You're saying that we'll have a .304 winning percentage the rest of the way after we went .576 all season?

    We'll make the playoffs, count on it.

    Obviously, the Rockets feel the same way. They know they are in the playoffs, so why try to win now? :rolleyes:

    I predicted Memphis would be ahead of Houston in the standings back in november in a thread called "it was fun while it lasted"

    I also predicted in that thread that the Rockets will NOT make the playoffs and even bolded it for emphasis.

    Why don't you have some nads and take up one of the many offers to bet that people have made with you in this thread?

    If the Rockets make the playoffs, I get to write your signature on here for a full year afterward, if they don't you get mine.

    If you actually believe what you type, you'll take the bet. Every single person who has said this in the last few weeks has backed out. Will you?

    I'm not a betting man, but I still stand by my word. If i'm wrong you can flame all you like. There's no need to create stupid "bets" to assign value to your words, at least not to me.

    On a related note, you sure do have a lot of posts for someone who joined around the same time as me, and I thought I posted a lot. Maybe you should refrain from posting so much, collect your thoughts, then post something more meaningful instead of all these "bet" challenges over and over again like you have in this thread. I've already given you my opinion on them so don't bring it up again because i'm simply not engaging in those childish antics.

    Next 10 games can decide it:

    Lakers
    @ Minn
    Dallas
    Clippers
    NO
    Memphis
    Phoenix
    @GS
    @Sac
    @Portland

    They must go at least 6-4, the rest of the schedule is stacked against them.

    Each game is big this month,
    I think they must beat Clippers, NO, Phoenix and they have to
    win 3 of these- Lakers, Memphis, @ GS, @ Portland

    Can the win @ Minn, @ Sac, Dallas(h)?

    I don't think they will.

    If they go 6-4 or better they will have the momentum to finish and make the playoffs.

    If they go 5-5 they will be on the bubble

    If they go 4-6 or worse, they probably will be playing poorly
    and not have any momentum for the stretch.

    They will be in real trouble.

    Yeah, more posts, yet I don't start attention whoring threads like this one, which is obviously what it was as you don't truly believe any of the crap that you have written.

    If you did believe it, you woud grow some and take up the bets proposed by me, Sane, and others.

    Bye bye now.

    Well, slient(fairweahter)fan you are welcome to keep not watching the Rockets. You seem to be a lousy supporter anyway. I disagree with you, but I would cheer for the Rockets if they went 0-82 for a season. That doesn't mean I wouldn't want changes, but I'd still keep cheering.

    Yetti, the don't deserve to make the playoffs? hahaha what a joke. Looking at their record and the record of other teams in the west, it appears that they've earned enough wins to say the do deserve to be in the playoffs.

    Yetti, maybe you didn't know, but the 8 teams with the best records in the West go to the playoffs. The way teams deserve to be in the playoffs are by winning enough games to qualify. So far the Rockets have done that.

    I strongly believe the Rockets will miss the playoffs because they are not a play-off caliber team. Like I said before, what should the Rockets be thankful for this year?

    The EASTERN CONFERENCE

    The Rockets' record against west teams is abysmal and is shameful that they are even in the playoff hunt right now over teams that have much better conference records than them. The NBA should change the rules to reward teams who can actually compete in their respective conference and actually live up to the name of "western conference playoffs." Right now they are rewarded an inferior team who racked up wins against the weak sisters of the league and consistently get humiliated by teams in their own division and conference. Looking at the remaining schedule, it's very tough and i'm not one bit fooled by the 9 games over .500 record the Rockets currently have because have shown an uncanny ability to choke.

    The Rockets record says they are a play-off calibur team.

    You are actually wishing the league would change the rules of the playoffs so that the Rockets would be excluded?

    You aren't a silentfan, you aren't a fairweather fan. You aren't a fan at all. How would you know what kind of team the Rockets have since you don't watch the games anymore?
