The guys on the Dunc’d on podcast referenced a couple of stats(stats I’m sure are behind a paywall)in one of their podcasts that said we were the slowest team(or one of the 2-3 slowest) at getting a shot up after a defensive rebound and at getting a shot up in half court possessions.

The only thing is this was like 3 weeks ago so there’s no way of knowing how things have changed since then by those numbers.

    I've always wanted Edey.

He will be much better than Boban, Shawn Bradley or whatever slow giant you can name

If pace isn't a measure of pace, should it be called pace?

It is a measure of pace, but it's a mashup of both teams pace. In any given game, both teams always have the same "pace" because pace is just the total number of possessions in the game. The number of possessions in a game is determined by the speed at which both teams play. If one team plays really fast and the other team plays really slow, the pace of the game would be in the middle.

It would be like if I told you the rockets were a good shooting team by showing you the total shooting percentage in their games with both teams included and averaged together. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to combine both teams.

Over the course of an entire season it probably still gives you an okay approximation for the purpose of ranking how fast the teams play, since you would get a large-ish sample of opponents. But it's still not a particularly accurate measurement for trying to figure out "how fast does this team play on offense."

Actually it's the fact we don't have a starting center that runs the floor at a high clip. FVV isn't the problem

Not Total, but total divided by 2 (with some math to account for overtimes, in order to normalize each game to 48 minutes).

But yeah, both teams always has the same Pace for a game.

FVV actually hurts our Pace because he never turns the ball over, which means our possessions last longer than KPj’s possessions.

I'd like another big to round out the rotation behind Sengun & Jabari but there's several guys I'd take ahead of Zach Edy. Maybe take him with one of the three 2nd round picks (along with a couple Euro Stash guys)

My first choice would be Aday Mara from UCLA. Probably getable with the Brooklyn pick, assuming it remains tail end of the lottery or just outside of it 12-16 ish.

I saw on one site (not sure credibility) that measured time to shot and had Rockets ranked 29 at 12.3 sec total time to shot while hawks ranked first at 10.9 seconds. After a made shot Rockets avg 15.6 ranked 22. After def rebound rank 28 at 10.6 seconds.

According to NBA.COM Rockets are ranked 9th for most freq% of possessions with 4-0 seconds left on shot clock. And 8th for most possessions with 7-4 seconds on shot clock. Bulk of their possessions are in 15-7 seconds at 53.4%. They are 28th in off speed at 4.31 mph.

Don’t know nothing about him. Is he a stretch 5? Can he defend the paint? Can he defend perimeter? If 2 out of 3 no then pass.

Yep. Turnover is one of the best ways to quickly finish an offensive possession.
