And you can't even spell his name right. DJ would be a great backup to Alston, but is he really that much better than Brooks? If Brooks was starting for the Bobcats like DJ is, he'd be able to put up some nice numbers too because of the opportunity.
He would be starting here, he has a great understanding of the game and sets up teamates very well. I would give up Landry for him...if the Bobcats would go for it. DD
I would give up Landry or Scola for him, if we could first get what we really need and that is a power forward with size and skill. I like Scolandry, but they do not provide the aggresive, big sidekick the passive Yao needs. Having a real power forward with either Landry or Scola backing him up and a shooter like DJ would certainly put this team over the top. I know you disagree about our priority needs, DD. I don't disagree we could use a new pg, but we need power rebounders and weak-side defenders more. If we could have both, awesome. Alas, it is too late on DJ. They already made their trade for a pf.
No, he wouldn't. If defense means anything to you at all, you wouldn't be starting him either. I've seen every Augustin game since his freshman year at UT. He's a defensive liability, and was completely destroyed by Derrick Rose in the Elite Eight in March. I would consider him a marginal upgrade to Brooks, but neither one would be starting on a team contending for a title. Rafer sets up his teammates pretty well as it is. DJ would come off the bench to shoot the ball efficiently, which is what you would want him to do.
DJ would be an amazing backup PG in Houston. The only meaningful stats I see that DJ is superior to Rafer's career is shooting%. There is more to basketball than just shooting%.
I think you missed the point about DJ being a rookie and comparing it to a guy who has already peaked. DJ is far superior to Rafer...and barring injury will have a much better career. DD
You are right, But the Bobcats would not accept Tmac and Artest for him................... He is locked up..............
Based on a limited sampling of games, I don't think so. In his first year at the point, he is averaging 6.8 assists per game (currently 11th in the nation). He has an all around floor game, and is not just an outside shooter. He is an above average defender as well, and averages 3 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game (tied for 16th in the nation). I doubt the Rockets will have a shot at him, whether he comes out this year or next. But it would be nice.
Yeah, DJ is doing well because of the opportunity in Charlotte. Face it, even if DJ was drafted by the Rox, he would get barely any playing time... Adelman is staunch on Alston [and Brooks] as his main PG. I had the pleasure of watching DJ in high school, and I obviously followed him in high school at UT, and while I think he is a great point guard (if he keeps increasing his level of play, I see him as the next Chris Paul), I think it's best he stays with the Bobcats. The Rockets have a deep, seasoned roster for the most part, and a promising Rookie would sort of mess up their plans.
that was nothing you should have seen his pitful effort against toronto he never left the center court logo
Augustin has a very good assist to turnover ratio, is a pass first pg that can drain the three, and is very mature for how young he is; he remind's me of a young steve nash honestly
