And we all know how it will turn out in the playoffs when teams try and shut down the 3 point line and send strong double teams to Harden. More jacked up 3's?

Other teams take 3's within the flow of the offense which translates well come playoff time. Rockets OTOH force 3's because of limited offensive sets and not much running plays to get easy buckets thanks to mediocre coaching.

If you want to believe that one 6 game series that included 2 of a players top 10 career games and a buzzer beater that is at BEST a 50/50 prop of going in to win, a series where we actually scored more points than the other team is concrete indisputable evidence that our strategy will always play out like it did then be my guest.

    All great questions ....
i think we could have a better identity we should be playing inside out instead of jacking 3's
D-Mo should get more touches in the post
& we havent yet put together a full 48 min of dominance like we should against a great team...
i think our main issue is turnovers we do not value each possesion lots of boneheaded unnecessary turnovers
hopefully we can get it together by playoff time
    GO ROCKETS!!

The idea that the Rockets don't take 3s within the flow of the offsense is just stupid.

Sure there are some forced 3s in the game, every team has forced shots every now and then. However, most of the Rockets 3s come from an open shooter that is set when he gets the ball. (Except James Harden who shoots on step backs and dribbles and all kinds of crazy stuff.)

This is exactly how they played in the playoffs last season. That's why Dwight was so dominate in this series.

we don't wanna peak too early like last year

They should hit their peak right before the playoffs, and roll to the playoffs with it. :)

tonight's game showed some great flashes of chemistry. Pick and Rolls that lead to DMo or Smoove catching the ball in the paint, making a move, and then passing to an open shooter. Harden finding cutters underneath the basket. Smoove and Brewer have great chemistry in transition. They're finding easy baskets and it didn't feel like it was Harden vs The World tonight.

These guys are slowly learning to play together. They beat a good team with their best player having an off game and their 2nd best player in a suit.

Exactly the same thing I noticed. They were clicking better tonight as a team. There was more flow and better passing.

    Very promising.

The other thing is early on at least you definitely saw Harden coming off picks and actually getting set up for open looks.

His legs are just gone so the shot is off

But I hope they continue letting him do some off ball stuff

No Bev. Just like earlier in the year. He stops the ball movement

With DH12 out, there are 96 minute at the 4/5 per game. 32 minutes each for DMo, TJones, and Josh Smith is pretty much what it is working out to now that TJones is rounding into shape and Joey Dorsey is back on the pine.
