furthermore, yes they have scrimmages, they also have more than 10 players..other guys work on their games, work with specialist staff...there are usually a lot of things goign on

We may be the only team with a practice court that small and bad. I guess you're fine with being known as the budget franchise and going for budget wins with the owners profits as the primarcy concern, but we arefalling behind the nba par of the money being raised in this game only getting higher with the tvccontract and organizations are professionalizing and progressing facilities. i guess you want to lose our best talent when they have options until they somehow coorelate and measure impact in wins. you may have en joyed the glgeague team last year, and thats what you'll end up with. If you can't handle modern nba economics, this ain't the 90s where they bought the team for 92 million...thatst now under the floor of what you are require to spend at minimum, this is a new era, can't handle the heat or get out the kitchen bc that brings our whole team down from the rest of the league.

liek i said above, its about the league par. if you're offce has bare bone crap, and the rest of the people at your level are enjoying spa life at their office, why would you stay there if they treat you poorly?

That goes for any of us enjoying nice facilities and conveniences that make our job easier to focus on production, not the bullshit. And frankly thats why the business where you could buy in for 100 million has turned into the busines where you need to spedn 100 million yearly...the private planes, teh hotels, and now all the teams are showing to bring facilities that are new, more space, better recovery, even nutritionist and even full blown restaurants...i guess these other cut throat billinoaires are wrong for investing in and professionalizing the nba ? and the shut up and listen owner is the only one that gets it right while even small market teams are doing it?

Hell I'll do him one solid. HE can just go not too far from downtown, use the new credits of opportunity zones and get a bunch of tax invencitves for 'developing that area'...just like the private plne he bragged about,...the last tax code allowed you to write of entire private plans, i know go figure, but its smart way to invest if its available. So why talk about it and then let the league get ahead of us. Houston i s the 4th biggest market with a strong franchise name, don't sully our rep.

Just goes to show that the practice facility has nothing to do with it.

"“We do not have a proper training facility with what you need today to be competitive,” Fertitta said. “We only have a one-court practice facility. When there’s a concert or another event going on, they can’t use the other (arena) court. So, you’re down to this one tight court that you can’t even stand next to the wall. It’s bad."

    that was 4 years ago...

We have one of the worst training facilities and are the worst team In the league but apparently we are pushing the narrative that tilmam is a cheapass.

Most Owners are willing to invest on upgrading their facilities to give their players the best chance to succeed and improve. This dude is all talk.

After seeing the documentary from 2015, I truly believe 'we' should hold training camp in a high school gym in Galveston. No air conditioning just those huge fans.

I didnt say winning didnt make more money I said a larger practice facility worth hundreds of millions of dollars wont lead to enough winning to pay for itself.

If building a 300M practice facility leads to 2 more wins does that justify the expense you spent on it? Nah. Winning by itself obv leads to more money, but we're not talking about winning in a vacuum right? We are talking about investment cost of hundred M stadiums for unclear return which is the whole point of this thread.

Wow yourself, cant believe you pretend to be dumb just so you can spout some false narrative smh.

Our cheap ass owner won't invest in upgrading facilities but uses money to spend on a yacht. That's a fact. We can debate all we want about the potential benefits of having an upgraded training facility will have on our players. The long term effect of having better facility is not something stupid like 2 more wins a season.

If every college and professional sports team thought like u, no one will ever invest in upgrading their sports facilities. But keep defending this cheapskate.

Look up Leicester city and see what a real passionate rich owner would do for his team.

Why bother investing in a state of the art sports facility for our players to get better if it will only yield potentially 2 more wins is the dumbest defense I have heard yet for tilman. Such short term thinking.

How far are these "state of the art" practice facilities from the actual game venue? I'd bet alot of players would love having a practice court steps away from where they play their home games. James used to run straight to the practice court after games to work on things.

Why would they even consider those other areas? Our players would have travel fatigue by the time they got there. Never leave the loop!
