I see it the other way around. Unless Harden changes, we'll have to be able to "hide him" defensively. Otherwise, the opposing team will score easily and/or get Dwight in foul trouble if we play another Troy Daniels type along side Harden.

And, I understand we won't be a defensive powerhouse. But, we need to be much better on perimeter defense to simply be acceptable. Even those Phoenix Suns teams had Shawn Marion as a stopper and attempted to stay in front of their man on the perimeter. Their main problem was no post presence.

We should be able to cover him with Beverley, Asik, and Howard. I think our defensive issues, Harden aside, are just a case of bad rotations. If we fixed that, and harden quit going for the quick steal, it would be a solid improvement. I think that's easier to do than making these guys true shooters.

Is that three point percentage in the OP or total FG percentage?

We simply don't gave great shooters. Plus Howard still hasn't hit that turnaround point when big men go from great to dominant: when their assists exceed their turnovers. Hakeem learned this late in his career, hopefully he realizes this is the next step for Howard in their future sessions. Punishing teams that don't respect spacing is critical.

It's 3pt FG% but it was from the first couple of months of the season. Parsons finished at 37%, Harden at 36.6, Beverley 36.1 and Lin at 35.8.

I don't know who Troys Daneils is, but Troy Daniels certainly made a difference

It's just too bad he didn't more PT earlier in the season

Uhh... Troy Daniels is definitely going to see some floor this season. We'll have shooters.

The Rockets have a bunch of average three point shooters. That's not all bad. We just need to add one or two guys that are really good three point shooters. Troy Daniels may turn out to be a great three point specialists. Isaiah Canaan and Robert Covington are still question marks, but have potential.

If I may, I would like to add a small point here. There are good 3-point shooters in the league like there is in the Rockets. What the team needs is a couple of 3 & D players. Closest to that were Casspi and Garcia. However, they played limited minutes and the effect was difficult to see. The Rockets main 3-point shooter is Harden and he is not famous for his D.

WHen you look at players like Green and Leonard, they really work hard in D as well.

WOW. Harden, Beverly, TJones and Garcia all literally SUCK from 3 point land. Why do I have a hard time believing these percentages?

There are actually people out there who don't think Troy Daniels is not a flash in the pan????? The guy is a one-trick pony, way undersized, and won't last in the NBA. He doesn't pass, is too undersized to play defense, can't penetrate on offense, doesn't get steals, doesn't rebound, etc.

I agree with you here. There are many shooters that didn't make it in the NBA or they are not going anywhere. Troy Daniels really is a good shooter, but I don't think that is the Rockets problem at all. Having Hardens poor defense out there for most of the game time, there's simply not place for another scorer that doesn't have a D.

He doesn't pass? Lol... His job is to catch and shoot, if he passed, then he wouldn't play.

If he keeps his percentage at 40+ and doesn't make dumb mistakes, there will be a place for him in the league. There's no reason why teams wouldn't want a shooter like that on their bench.
