The pics make it look like he isn't that excited right now... or he is high... maybe both. If we can't lock Harden up long term, this trade will be a bust given we won't have any depth at the SG position if he walks.
Harden's thoughts on the trade? The pictures coming in seem to suggest he was just as surprised as the rest of us.
This. I was never for tanking but we are going to pay max for a player that can't carry a team to the conference finals. Those are max players. He is going to put up scoring number similar to Kevin Martin for 6-8 million more.

When are people going to understand that James Harden is so much better than Kevin Martin? Harden will score like Martin, plus he is a playmaker (unlike Martin), and plays defense. Oh and he's only 23 years old. To be able to sign a player like Harden to a long term contract when he probably hasn't even hit his prime is amazing and Rockets fans should be going crazy.
So, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, and a younger Pau Gasol aren't max players? Heck, Wade couldn't carry the Heat past the first round when he just had trash around him.
Again, I understand all this. All I was doing was countering an argument that Harden wasn't worth the max because the Thunder didn't pay him the max. The implication being his talent wasn't worth the max contract and that's why OKC ended up trading him after he rejected their offer.
Harden videos up on rockets.com, check em out! He's not a very extrovert person so doesn't really sound excited, it was a money decision, nothing more.
The draft picks People cannot keep eval Morey's job without remembering that the picks so many folks are saying were worth very little in this trade came from trading Lowry and Hill.
Agreed. Houston Rockets will not be taken lightly anymore and everyone better bring their work boots if they want to beat us.
A few months ago, people here were fine with handing a max contract to Eric Gordon and now people are complaining about giving one to James Harden? smh
Such a flawed way of thinking. DWill, Rondo, Carmelo, Blake Griffin, Amar'e etc couldn't "carry" a team into the conference finals either.
Awesome news. That was the big question mark still looming. Glad we're not getting kicked in the nuts after gutting the future picks we've all been buzzing about.
It's apparently because of he went M.I.A. in the finals Lets all forget about his run in the finals before that. OKC wouldn't have gotten to the finals in the first place if it wasn't for his heroics in the WCF. Smdh.
