I give it 15 games...if we are playing superior basketball then go for it. If we are on the opposite spectrum of that then rebuild or as u like to call it "tank.

To borrow a line from Rick Pitino, Chuck Hayes is not walking through that door! (but Kevin McHale is)

We could conceivably win the division. But it matters very little unless we can add a max free agent this offseason. (Dwight/DWill) Because this team will be one and done in the playoffs without a major trade this season.

Well to be fair, NFL games are weekly affairs and the current NBA season has back to back to backs, so....

Let's hope the Rockets were the start of all the injuries with Yao, etc. and that the Texans are playing catch-up. Hopefully, injuries to our top guys are a thing of the past.

If they win the division, they would matchup with the #6 seed. How is that a guaranteed one and done?

Nah, they could still be a #4 seed...top-4 are 3 division winners plus the team with the best record who did not win a division, all arranged by record. Also, home court advantage in any round is determined purely by record.

That's still not a guaranteed one and done. It's not like a 1/8 or 2/7, or even 3/6 scenario.

Oh no, definitely not. Especially in this year's Western Conference.

There are more teams wanting to play for these bottom feeders on the way up than for the mediocrity treadmill Rockets for the last 5 years.

David West went to the Pacers, a worse team than Houston.

CP3 went to the Clippers, a worse team than Houston, in trade and he hasn't protested to the media or asked for another trade. He is happy to play with ROY Blake Griffin.

Stoudemire went to lottery team Knicks, a worse team than Houston, about 2 years ago.

If the Rockets get some lottery talent, other players will want to come to Houston.

i'm not a tanking proponent, but watching the same game last night I was struck by our ultra thin margin for success. we literally have to have a perfect game where everything comes together to be competitive against the upper echelon.

if i could ignore ethical objections i'd say tank too ...
