That was offensive to all gun owners: they would NOT waste a bullet on a Mavericks horse.

Same with me. I thought it was referencing rape when I saw the quote without emojis. Once I saw it with the graphics I thought it was a little off, but definitely not worth being fired for.

I guess you missed Morey's tweet where he said being a basketball GM is like being a gynecologist, you never get tired of it. That was immensely more tone deaf, unprofessional, and lacking in class. This is nothing but a double standard.

the guy made a mistake and i bet he learned an important lesson. so they fire him and hire someone else who didn't learn from it personally and will likely make the same mistake. smh.

Wow, Daryl is so evasive. I understand that he might have to be, but I am surprised that he is surprised that he is getting asked about this. It's the top headline in the ESPN NBA articles, and us fans are interested in it.

Not commenting on the tweet content or firing, but I have worked in external comms for major corporations and I can assure you that most any company would react similarly. Most external comms mentioning a direct competitors normally need to go past Legal.

Social media has created all new challenges because of the scale and immediacy, but someone responsible for social media of a major organization would or at least should know what can and can't be tweeted (or blogged).

I have seen folks already contacting the guy about opportunities... he will probably benefit from this.

Give that man back his job. No point to fire him over that.

The cartoon horse will address the media at a 5:30pm press conference, according to a source, of course, of course.
