Some of you who think the Rockets will suck next season are the same ones who thought they were going to be a contender before the season started last year. Especially after the Ty lawson trade. I don't trust any of you guys when it comes to predictions, so i'll just wait to see how this thing plays out.
Hey may be right. Anyone tried out the new Rockets rotation on 2k? I'm killing it with them man, and last year's team was next to impossible to play with. Gordon will be a beast. Anderson will be a great fit.
How are those things the same? Being a head coach of a college football team is not the same thing as being the general manager of a professional basketball team. There isn't a GM in the league this season that was in the playoffs last year that is going to go on the record and say he doesn't think his team can compete for a championship. Seriously, why does Morey deserve criticism for saying exactly what he should be saying to the media? And the sad thing is, that if he HAD been honest and said that he didn't think the Rockets could compete, somebody would have made a thread bashing the guy for that. There are some fans in here that would hate Morey no matter what he says. It's a lose-lose situation for the guy, and I hardly think that's fair.
The Rockets are NOT a title contender. Morey is just trying to sell a justifiably skeptical and increasingly restless fanbase on a team that IMO is going nowhere. Sure they'll be entertaining and score a lot of points and with the parity in the West outside of the Warriors, Spurs, and Clippers(I'm not sold on the Grizzlies yet), they're even a threat to win a playoff series. But who are we kidding? At the end of the day, this bunch is more than likely a 45-50 win team and first round knockout. Which is par for the course under Les Alexander. What frustrates me is that I suspect he's perfectly content with that provided the Rockets don't play to a half empty arena and crappy TV ratings. Now all that being said, if Morey can somehow pull off a miracle trade like the Lakers did in 2008 when they got Gasol, then he'll be vindicated and we will have a team with a legit shot at a championship. But that's a gigantic if.
If Nene, Gordaon, Anderson, and Dmo were healthy and not a breathe away from the infirmary, I would be excited. But that's too many guys who have their best days behind them.
anyone who ACTUALLY believes this ( Morey doesn't, its just PR crap) needs to go to a psychiatric ward.
