cocaine is a hell of a drug. who tf are you to tell someone to stop being a rockets fan when they arent a blind homer are you? if you seriously think this team a title contender then you need to get your eyes checked.
Morey is just doing his job. If he was honest, he'd say "we have no chance of realistically winning a title this season, but we're building a solid foundation so we can contend for the future." But if he says that, the players and the media would lose their freaking minds. Getting upset over a GM giving a typical PR statement to the media at a press conference announcing the team's biggest free agent acquisitions is pretty asinine.
So now that we ha e Harden locked up for 3 more years, maybe 4, we can really afford to build this thing right. And that includes taking the coming draft seriously, as well as making deals for younger talent like Noel and Okafor. I'd really like to see us take a shot at some young players that can be special in a year or two.
Plenty of people thought the Thunder would beat the Spurs, and as long as you have LeBron on your team nothing is impossible. Unfortunately you can't compare the Rockets to the Warriors, Cavs, or Spurs (or last year's Thunder). Those teams were far and away the top 4 in the league last year, and 3 of them remain several tiers above the Rockets this year. There's nothing pessimistic about realizing that, you'd have to be a bigger homer than Bill Worrell to deny that.
I heard Daryl, he was not saying "this year" we are a championship contender. He said it's "set up" to be one going forward. Only time will tell but as usual people do not LISTEN< because they have already decided what someone is saying. An example of today's Net-deficite brains out there. I am taking back my vote-this is the perfect example of a false poll on a false issue. Wake up Clutch Fans...
If your looking for a comparison try the Mavericks of 2011 or the Heat of 2006. Neither of those teams were championship quality and both of those teams were heavy underdogs to lose when they got to the Championship. Both of those teams won. In Dallas 2011 they had an overall good record but the media were calling them the 1 and done boys because there record against play-off caliber teams was pretty bad. Plus their point guard was old enough to be a grandpa, their center was a player that was basically moved from NOP because he couldn't stay healthy and their 2nd best player was Jason Terry. The Rockets are every bit as good as both of those teams were when they won the Championship. Our own Rockets even managed to make some major upsets on their way to the NBA Championship series in the 80s and the 90s. There is no way Moses Malone should have been able to drag the Rockets into the Championship game. Akeem and Ralph were heavy underdogs to the same LA showtime Lakers and after losing game 1, swept the remainder of the games, including the close out game in LA. GSW is the odds on favorite and rightly so. But, don't try to convince me this team has no chance, I know better.
Too many holes and questions going into the season ( rebounding, turnovers, FT%, FG%, talent, assists, additional playmaking, ball movement, and defense ). I think high probability of making playoffs, but not even that is assured this year with only one real talent on the team. Almost everyone else is essentially a good to very good bench player and or maybe a very low end starter. Reality has to sink in.
Maybe you should stop using then..............or are you making personal judgements on others opinions >in that case just stop it ....................
this is pathetic. please remove your post. It's both ugly and un-American. How dare you. Making light of a mass killer who gassed his own people as a comparison of Daryl Morey ? Get off your video games and read history.
it doesnt hurt to be honest. Tom Herman, Houston's football coach is honest and he tells it like it is. Thats why I like him. Morey could have said "as of right now, this team isnt a contender but we will get there soon". then i wouldnt have had a problem with it.
We're clearly not at this point, but can't be mad at him for saying that. Of course he's going to support this team.
