about the new movie, isn't there a state school up in central texas somewhere that has a football team? I think my friend's little brother played them back in 98. I was watching the fl st vs. miami marathon labor day, and during the 93 game they showed him standing on the sideline in disbelief as the clock was winding down and miami was losing.
ooohhhhh.......so now its dwayne johnson, not the rock. as soon as they get big, they forget who brought them to the dance
Is The Rock/Johnson any more of a stiff as an actor than Gov. Arnold of California? One can have a very successful action film career without that much ability as a "serious actor". I don't exactly see Dwayne Johnson stealing parts for Philip Seymore Hoffman or getting an Oscar nomination anytime soon, but the man entertains his audience and seems to deliver enough box office stats to keep getting parts.
i can't tell if you're being serious but IIRC, he bought the rights to the name when he left WWE. doesn't that mean he no longer is tied to the WWE or owes Vince any money afterwards?
I amazed we got to Post #45 before someone refererenced that. Ironic that The Rock would be changing his name when he always told people their name didn't matter when he was in the WWF.
I don't see him being any worse than Arnie, he just needs to pick better movies. Actually, he's a better actor than Arnold and much more charasmatic, which in a way, might hurt him from having an Arnold type career.
Cena? Dude, there has been wrestler/movie actors way before Cena and Rock... Speaking of Gov. Arnold... I never got why his characters in Terminator 2, Kindergarten Cop, Jingle All the Way, True Lies, etc.. would have an Austrian accent... I mean, if you have mastered time travel, wouldn't you at least have the technology to program your cyborg to speak with an American accent when you are sending him to the US? I mean, just so he blends in better?
they should just make an hour and a half movie of clips from WWE of The Rock on the mic just ripping on and making fun of other wreslters. he was just so damn good and funny and electrifying on the mic. he just had the crowd in the palm of his hand. i haven't watched wrestling in years now but i doubt anyone is as good as he was and there really wasn't anyone before him that was as good. he does seem to be a decent actor so hopefully one day he gets a really good part and makes a real blockbuster (not that he really needs any more success in his life).

It appears this information was taken out of context from another reporter. Below are two submissions from readers contradicting the claim: Shane Trotman Reporting: This morning on Orlando's Doc and Johnny Morning show they had and interview with The Rock promoting Gridiron Gang. In it he said off the bat he is not dropping The Rock moniker, he said he was glad that he could not remember the journalist who was, since they also talked about Walking Tall and his other movies. He did say that they took it all out of context but he was always going to be the Rock just as he was going to be Dwayne Johnson. Mike Ramos Reporting: I live in Orlando, FL and on the way to work this morning the Rock was on a local radio station. (XL 106.7) They asked him about the report he may be dropping his name and he denied ever saying that. Something he said was completely taken out of context. It’s a false rumor and said he loves being known as “The Rock”.
