This is no longer about Melo. D'Antoni vindicated himself and his system last year (Coach of the Year).
Everyone knows it works when you have the right personnel and that personnel has the right mindset.
If ANYONE goes, it's Melo. He won't be the star here. This won't be a team built around him.
We don't have to keep him happy. We were fine before he came along.
The cards have changed. It's all on HIM.

Exactly... all this stuff about oh Westbrook ruined him and James and CP3 will save him doesn’t matter if he’s washed. Melos numbers dropped significantly during the second half of the seasons like Ben dubose said and that suggest it might be a physical thing more than buying into a role or Westbrook ruining him.

Say what you want about Westbrook, Melo missed A LOT of open shots against Utah.

I think he’s going to work here because we don’t need him to be a 3rd option max player. We need him to be a 5th option role player.
