I like KJ - as a fan all you really want is to see enough NBA minutes to make a judgment on a guy, right?

But still this thread is giving me flashbacks of Terrence The Kraken Williams.

I dogged KJ earlier for not being on the same level as Crash but I was being unfair to a guy who has not reached his full potential yet. KJ, I hope this year is your year to turn the corner and silence all those who doubt you. You can do it. Stay focused.

We've missed on a few but honestly every team is looking for shooting over pretty much everything now a days.

McDaniels did not have an awful Summer League. Averages:

    OVERALL
    16 points on a 39.3%/33.3%/76.7% shooting split (53.9 TS%), 5.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists (3 turnovers), and 3.4 stocks in 29.5 minutes. (20.9 PER)

    FIRST 2 GAMES
    12.5 points on a 24%/16.7%/91.7% shooting split, 3 rebounds, 3 assists (2 turnovers), and 4 stocks in 28 minutes.

    LAST 3 GAMES
    18.3 points on a 50%/46.7%/66.7% shooting split, 6.7 rebounds, 3 assists (3.7 turnovers) and 3 stocks in 30.7 minutes.

And even if he did struggle, it's the Summer League.

Hopefully, the coaching staff gives McDaniels the opportunity to succeed that JBB didn't. Given his skill set, he could be a valuable rotation player.

The main issue i have with KJ is that he takes too many bad/dumb decisions with the ball...but, maybe this happens more when he plays with the other young guys cause he tries to be some kind of leader...i don't know...maybe he would be more under control playing next to Harden & co...i just can't see minutes for him as today though...

When Bazemore was KJ's age, he was a GSW cheerleader, for what it's worth. It's probably worth a bent penny to answer my own question. Preach on, brethren.

I thought last year KJ was in a no win situation.
Given junk minutes or to go out and foul poor FT shooters. Then when he did get rare minutes he was no doubt feeling pressure to perform in an under performing team with a bad coach. And no doubt scratching his head how Brewer got minutes over him.
Hope he gets an opportunity once and for all under MDA and if he doesn't perform, then get rid.
