    Good for him.

There would be benefits in tech breakups. But at this point, it's pretty much a balancing act between Trump's different coalitions.

JD Vance says Big Tech has "too much power"
Washington — Vice President JD Vance said Saturday that "we believe fundamentally that big tech does have too much power," despite the prominent positioning of tech CEOs at President Trump's inauguration last week.
"They can either respect America's constitutional rights, they can stop engaging in censorship, and if they don't, you can be absolutely sure that Donald Trump's leadership is not going to look too kindly on them," Vance said on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan."

The comments came in response to the unusual attendance of a slate of tech CEOs at Mr. Trump's inauguration, including Meta's Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, Tesla's Elon Musk, Apple's Tim Cook, and Google's Sundar Pichai. The tech titans, some of whom are among the richest men in the world and directed donations from their companies to Mr. Trump's inauguration, were seated in some of the most highly sought after seats in the Capitol Rotunda.

Vance noted that the tech CEOs "didn't have as good of seating as my mom and a lot of other people who were there to support us."

In an August interview on "Face the Nation", the vice president outlined his thinking on big tech, saying that companies like Google are too powerful and censor American information, while possessing a "monopoly over free speech" that he argued ought to be broken up.

The tech sphere went on to play an outsized role in Trump's 2024 election victory, with Musk spending more than a quarter of a billion dollars to back Mr. Trump and other Republican candidates. Musk became a key ally to the president and in November, Mr. Trump tapped the Tesla CEO to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, a new temporary agency aimed at reducing wasteful federal spending. Meanwhile, other tech CEOs cozied up to the president with visits to Mar-a-Lago ahead of the inauguration.

But Vance said in Saturday's interview that big tech and the tech giants, despite their recent closeness to the president, are "very much on notice."

    Intriguing
    Good Stuff if True.

There will be a whirl wind if something happens to Trump and JD takes over
I wonder what BIG TECH's plan for that eventuality

Vance is a bigger idiot than I imagined. What does that comparison even mean? Thunberg is an opinionated individual who raised awareness about issues and expresses her opinions. Musk is the richest man in the world who is was given power to access all kinds of agencies, finances and has sought about using that power to erase evidence of his profits from the agencies he is examining. Why would any rational person make that comparison?

I guess it could be seen as funny if someone's idea of humor is to laugh at people on the spectrum.

Do you think the two are in any way comparable? In terms of resources, power, control and authority, they are in no way comparable. It seems like the only humor Vance was trying at was trying to bring her name up.

Greta Thunberg made herself a public figure (with significant help from her parents). She has consistently been over her head all along, subject matter-wise. She is particularly self-righteous.

I'd say any humor aimed in her direction is well justified.

She has been a public figure. No argument from me there. Being self-righteous isn't an abuse of power nor does it put her on the same power level as Musk. It's fine to have an unfavorable opinion of her. I don't even mind poking fun at her. The thing that made this humor fall short is that Vance used Musk as an excuse to bring her up to bash her. The only thing in common with the two seems to be that they are both on the spectrum.

Trump Declines to Endorse JD Vance as 2028 Republican 'Successor'

Baier responded to Trump's declining to back Vance as his successor by pointing out that by the 2026 midterms, Vance will likely be looking for Trump's endorsement if he chooses to run.

Trump pivoted away from responding, instead saying that "a lot of people have said this has been the greatest opening, almost three weeks, in the history of the presidency."

    after all, lest we forget,

Smaller farms will end up being sold on the cheap and bought up by billionaires through their private equity groups. After they are consolidated into big corporate farms and the markets are favorable again. These equity groups will flip these superfarms to foreign entities (usually from China or India) for great profits accompanied with a public statement of wanting to head back to investments/markets they have an expertise in.

The real estate platform streamlines investing in US farmland. Now farms are fast becoming a portfolio staple for investors worldwide.
