Thanks prlen! I'm glad China won this time. Scoring 20 points with only about 8 shots is awesome! Ming always seem to shoot at a high percentage.

prlen thamks for all the updates and the stats you are giving us rockets junkies a small fix. Now all china has to do is take care of italy tommorow and they will win the second half of that tournament. and even half of those stats to start the season would be nice.

Yao Ming's attack and three blocks in the last few minutes lead China to win.

He's playing against scrubs who wouldn't even make the Bulls!!!

Like he'd ever put up these results against NBA centers!

Why did they not pick Jay Williams(the REAL superstar in this draft) and trade Steve for a REAL bigman? Not some Shawn Bradley clone!!!

Anyone really think Bradley wouldn't dominate these scrubs?

btm there are alot of players in the nba that could dominate in that those game but only one is a 21 year old 7'5" guy that will be a rocket next year that is playing. there are plenty of threads were you can argue about mings abilities, but this one is to inform us how a future rockets is doing right now.

I think we should take into consideration the fact that China play a VERY VERY team-oriented style. Meaning, Ming is not the franchise-type player for China that we think he is. He may be the best, but they don't go to him as much as the Lakers go to Shaq or Spurs to Duncan. Maybe like we go to Our 3rd scorer, whoever that maybe on whiever given night.

Good performance. If Yao commits himself to 3 things, we will be excellent next year:

    Smart Defense
    Rebounding (The effort)
    Outlet passes

I'm looking forward to next season. It's nice to hear Boki is fluent in English, and also nice to hear Yao is not absolutely awful. I get the impression he understands well, but to reply, it will take him some time. I'd say after one season, he'll be decent.

    Something I've always wondered:

Why don't teams get their players tutors to learn whatever language? Isn't it faster than waiting? Do they do this already?

Wow IMO Yao was doing very well in this game.:)

BTW prlen what do you mean by "...the highlight in 40s is awful."?
