I know that it's been said but I just have to add myself that this red and black look is very, very nice. How can we NOT be using this color scheme?

This uniform is awesome. I really like the color scheme and how it says "HOUSTON" instead of Rockets on all 2 of our uniform types. I wish it existed, why can't Les give up the extra cash to have these made?

NBA won't allow it. They put a moratorium on black jerseys because Stern thought it promoted a "thug" image. This was done a few years ago when Stern was instituting the dress code and everything to "clean up" the leagues image.

Also, everybody and their mother wants black jerseys and the NBA doesn't want every freakin' team in the league wearing the same color. At the time that Stern instituted th moratorium the Rockets, Knicks, Raptors, Magic, and Boston all had plans for black alternates.

The Rockets (and many other teams) have tried to get a black jersey but haven't had success in getting league approval.

But Toronto got a black alternate last season so maybe Stern is relaxing his stance a little. Still, I wouldn't count on seeing a black jersey any time soon.

admittedly I'm no expert with Photoshop but I think the idea of a 'tertiary color' is to make it more of an accentuation rather than a dominating trim item. To me, the idea would be to minimize the McDonalds / ChiCom effect...

besides- it really balances nicely the old school / contemporary vibe IMO...

    ... or a subtle variation...

Again, the basic design really doesn't need a lot of tweaking. Less is more.

Please no yellow and red combos. We are not China and we are not McDonalds.

For some comparison, I thought the Hawks jerseys from a few years ago used ketchup and mustard pretty well. Still notice that the yellow is only used as an accent except for the alternate jerseys.

    (I hope these show up.)
Not a huge fan of the yellow alternates w/red lettering.

For some reason, I want a burger and fries after seeing that picture.

    Nice idea. Poor execution.

I think we can simply expect our current uni to have yellow implemented as an accent color in the lettering, numbers, logo and trim somehow... I personally would like us to go to a more timeless look. I think piping is always cool instead of actual broad striping. Im a minimalist...

    BOOO to yellow.

I hate the old mustard and ketchup uniform. Yellow just does not look good with red.
